AOS Checklist

  • Cover Letter listing Table of Contents
  • (Check Payable to U.S. Department of Homeland Security - $1,225.00)

 

Form I-485 (completed and signed by non-US Citizen/beneficiary)

  • Form G-1145 
  • Copy of beneficiary's Passport with biographical page 
  • Copy of beneficiary's K1 Visa from Passport and entry stamp 
  • Copy of NOA2 Approval letter (from K1 process) 
  • I-94 
  • Copy of beneficiary's Birth Certificate 
  • translation of birth certificate
  • Certified copy of Marriage License 
  • Passport Photos (2) name written on the back 
  • Copy of DS-3025 

 

Form I-864 (completed and signed by USC) (goes with form I-485)

  • Proof of USC's citizenship (copy of birth certificate, copy of passport bio page, or other)
  • 2018, 2017 (optional), and 2016 (optional) Tax Return (with W-2) or Transcripts
  • Employment Verification letter (updated one - not the one used during K1 process) 
  • Paystubs (last 3 months) 

 

Form I-765 (completed and signed by non-US Citizen/beneficiary)

  • Copy of beneficiary's Passport with biographical page 
  • Copy of beneficiary's K1 Visa from Passport and entry stamp 
  • I-94 
  • Passport Photos (2) name written on the back 
  • Copy of NOA2 (from K1 process) 

 

Form I-131 (completed and signed by non-US Citizen/beneficiary)

  • Copy of beneficiary's Passport with biographical page 
  • Copy of beneficiary's K1 Visa from Passport and entry stamp 
  • I-94 
  • Passport Photos (2) name written on the back 
  • Copy of NOA2 (from K1 process

Timeline

Following. 

I sent my package on Jul 31, it was delivered on Aug 2.

My bank shows USCIS charge for fees this morning.

F-1 status in US since 2017, arrived earlier than my parents got their GCs (IR5 thru my sister, USC).

My mom filed I-130 in December 2018 and received NOA1, petition still pending.

  

Timing:

  • I-485 (AOS) + I-765 (EAD) application package sent:  July 31, 2019 (FEDEX)
  • Package delivered: August 2, 2019
  • Funds taken: August 8, 2019 (paid with a credit card)
  • NOA1: August 13, 2019
  • NOA2: August 15, 2019
  • Biometrics: August 29, 2019

Nearly finished filling in the forms, will be submitting them next week! I hope it doesn't take forever like my K-1 visa 😥took nearly a year for me to get that.

We’re doing it through RapidVisa... my husband’s tax transcript for 2018 doesn’t show all of his earnings. He moved states and changed jobs in the middle of the year so I think it might be the reason why. He did rideshare for 6 months and then started a regular job in September, and this job puts him way above the required amount but it doesn’t reflect on the 2018 transcript. 

I just hope USCIS looks at the W2s and take into account the paystubs and sees that we will have no financial problem while I’m waiting for my EAD... we’re gonna add a letter to make sure they look at everything, but RapidVisa isn’t confident that it will work. 😕

08/09/19  -  Filed AOS/EAD/AP

08/12/19  -  NOA1

09/04/19  -  Biometric Appointment

10/10/19  -  Notice of Ready For Interview  

12/06/19  -  AP/EAD Approved

12/16/19  -  AP/EAD Card Received

02/27/20  -  AOS Interview Scheduled Text

02/27/20  -  AOS Interview NOA

04/16/20  -  AOS Interview (E-notice of  interview cancellation received 03/31/20)

We are the same dates. Hopefully they are happy with what they see and cash the checks this week because my son turns 14 on Sunday. Well, this time waiting is much easier
