Hi all. My wife's EAD/AP combo card expires 1/2/2021. I sent my wife's EAD renewal application and it was delivered on 6/08/2020. I included the I-765, 2 photographs, copy of EAD (front & back), and I-797 for the EAD. I didn't include a cash payment because we filed under AOS C-9 (K1 visa). How can I check the status of the EAD renewal? Also, I realized that I didn't include the I-797 for the AP. Will that be a problem or do I need to resubmit the I-797 for AP? Thank you.

You should've sent a new 131 form, like in the first package.

And your new application might not be processed if you didn't send the NOA 1 from AOS.

Damn it. Upon re-reading the instructions, you are correct that I did forget to include the AOS NOA1 to prove payment of filing fee. Should I wait for RFE or should I just re-submit both the I-765 and I-131 together? I just want to confirm that I would need to include the following:

I-765 Renewal under C9 category:

- Signed I-765 (EAD) application

- A copy of EAD (front & back)

- 2 2"x2" passport-style photographs

- I-797C (NOA1) for I-485 (AOS) application

- I-797C (NOA1) for I-765 (EAD)

- G-1145 (E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance)

I-131 (AP) under C9 category:

- Signed I-131 (AP) application

- A copy of passport

- 2 2"x2" passport-style photographs

- I-94

- I-797C (NOA1) for I-485 (AOS) application

- I-797C (NOA1) for I-131 (AP)

- G-1145 (E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance)

Am I missing anything? Thanks for all your help.

Your package was most likely rejected because you didn't include the AOS NOA 1. If they accepted your form without it, you will receive a text with the new case number and you will have to apply for 131 separately and will not receive a combo card.

Was your package returned? Did anyone confirm if this is the correct list of things that need to be sent? I'm sending for my EAD/AP renewal now so wanted to learn from your experience. Thank you!

My EAD package was not returned. The EAD package I sent included everything minus the I-797 for AOS. To my surprise, I received 3 I-797C notices. The first I-797 states the I-765 renewal was received by the office and is in process. It also states that if I timely filed my EAD for renewal, the renewal is under a category that's eligible for 180-day extension, and if I don't receive my EAD before it expires, then the I-797C is proof for the employer that my EAD is automatically extended for up to 180 days after the expiration printed on my combo card. The 2nd I-797 gives me an online access code (expires 90 days from the receipt date of the I-797) to give me access to an account that USCIS has created for me. The 3rd I-797 states that USCIS is able to reuse my previous biometrics data and it's not necessary for me to appear for another biometrics appointment.

I recently sent in the AP application with the above mentioned requirements and yesterday I received a text message stating they have received it. Hope this helps.
