Jenny17655 reacted to geowrian in Reason to Expedite -Financial Hardship
No harm in requesting the expedite.
That said, if losing a job was cause for faster processing, I could foresee a lot of job losses in the future.

Reschedule as you were instructed.

Jenny17655 reacted to Just Paul in Can I still get a visa with a weed charge?
Don't waste filing another K-1. Get married and file a spousal visa. At least an appeal can be filed if it is denied.

Jenny17655 reacted to geowrian in Can I still get a visa with a weed charge?
You need to determine why he was refused. Even if it was for weed, was it due to the criminal charge (requiring a waiver), or due to the medical (generally requiring up to a year ban and/or testing to confirm he stays clean).

He can go to the interview without it.....but expect to be placed in "refused" or "Administrative Processing" status until it is submitted....

Jenny17655 got a reaction from Naul's girl in Jamaica visa
took us 2 days. We asked the CO if he could fly home with me and they allowed him to pick up his visa at the embassy 2 days later.

He will need the certificate anyway. It is a requirement for the K1 interview in JA

Jenny17655 reacted to Crazy Cat in Can my husband get a license?
His endorsed visa (CR-1) acts as a Green Card until the plastic one arrives......it allows work and provides evidence of legal resident status....

Jenny17655 reacted to Pinkrlion in Common law marriage
Technically they are supposed to register, but a lot of times it is not revealed until common law spouse files for child support and part of the house and land.

Any Information listed on DS-160 and stated at interview is in your permanent immigration file. It could have been 20 years ago, they still have the information.

Jenny17655 reacted to Lovely Aquarius in Common law marriage
In the past when he was still with his sons mother and still living together he applied for a visitors visa. He applied twice and was denied twice. She applied once and was denied as well. He did list her as someone he lives with at the time. I'm sure she listed him as well. That's the only thing I can think of. I don't have the physical letter from Immigration as of yet.

Jenny17655 reacted to Nashvan in Filling Category and Biometric Fee(s)
The biometric fee is included in the $1225. Use the fee calculator to double check: https://www.uscis.gov/feecalculator

Jenny17655 reacted to milimelo in Offered a job but unsure what 2 do
A Dave and Buster job won’t qualify for a work visa and you certainly can’t stay past your poe approved date of return.
Your US? fiancée should file I-129f if she hasn’t already and you get back to UK and wait it out.

Jenny17655 reacted to Allaboutwaiting in extreme vetting (social media)
That's why, just in case, whenever sending a private message or speaking out loud, I praise the USCIS and send them all my love. 😅

Jenny17655 reacted to kris&me in extreme vetting (social media)
a while back a VJ member posted that her bf had been denied (can not remember what embassy) and she was told the beneficary was talking on social media to several women about love and marriage
and this was before the ds 5535 or the new questions on ds 160/ds260

Jenny17655 got a reaction from MaryJ in Just wondering
I was reading an article where lawyer was answering questions regarding someone's options to avoid being deported before AOS. This is a particularly high profile televised couple. The man is currently being detained by ICE. He arrived on a K1, married and wife filed AOS. Things went left and wife pulled I864 and filed for divorce. Now I know clearly that he could not have entered and married someone other than the petitioner however this lawyer said one of his options would be to marry a citizen. My question is because he married the petitioner and subsequently divorced can he now AOS with someone else?

Jenny17655 reacted to Crazy Cat in Green Card Approved and mailed to me on Friday July 5th but not arrived at my house yet. Travelling to Scotland in 3 days
You could try to get a stamp...although you might face some resistance on their part...........another (riskier) option is to have a family member send the card to you.....worst case scenario, imo, is that you return to the US border with neither your card or a stamp.......even without the actual Green Card, you have status as a legal resident. The card is just evidence of that status........

Jenny17655 reacted to Shiran in Just wondering
I am guessing this is him?
https://www.gofundme.com/f/1oqlrs1w00
Apparently since he turned his back on people of Jamaica, he fears of being assassinated if he is to be extradited.

Jenny17655 got a reaction from JohnBCol in USCIS Aims to Decrease Processing Times for N-400 and I-485 [merged threads]
I would be more than happy to drive to Albany NY (which is closer to me than NYC anyway!) The wait times are much shorter in Albany. Not sure why they have our zip code in NYC
