@NICK & PAULA Hi girly, just wanted to let you know that I’m thinking of you and hoping/praying/crossing finger and toes that you hear something from your embassy soon!  I keep checking your profile for an update.  I’m still waiting for my case to be received at NVC myself.    I know this process can be torture at times but we’re almost through it!  Sending love and well wishes to you sweet girl.

Hahaha    Guuurl!  That’s the crazy I was talking about though!  Lol.  They wanna make us all lose our minds, I’m telling you!  We’re all going to have to take anger management classes at the end of this otherwise we’re gonna go around punching all the Emmetts of the world!  Although I’d be punching the Pipers.  That lady was nasty.  My fiancé was listening in on our conversation and when I hung up he was like, “Who pissed in her Cheerios??”  😂🤣

We didn’t pay anything when my fiancé went for his MMR at his GP.  If you can get your GP to do it, that would definitely be the cheapest option.  Alternatively, the US Embassy London website has an informational package from Knightsbridge listed on their website, including a price list.  According to the list, their prices are actually cheaper than what you found here.  The Knightsbridge website shows the same price info as well.

Yay!!  Great news!  Congratulations!

My fiancé is 30 and he just had his first dose of MMR done on NHS about a month ago.  He goes in for his second dose next week.  He just rung his GP and scheduled an appointment specifically for MMR.  I accompanied him to the appointment and the nurse asked again what we were there for when she called us back to the room.  We said that he needed his MMR jab and then she said something along the lines of “Oh, so you’re planning to conceive and you want to get this done before falling pregnant!”  We actually have been talking about family planning but didn’t think to get MMR because of it, but we just agreed with her and went on our merry way!  Lol  Point being, it can and was done on NHS. I suppose it depends on the GP though.  Maybe you can use the same reasoning our nurse gave?  Hope this helps!

Oh sweet girl, you keep talking to her.  That’s the best thing you can do for her.  A few years ago, around Christmas, I almost lost my sister due to complications with the flu.  She spent over a month in the hospital, in a coma and on life support.  Each time we asked her doctors what her chances of recovering were, they never could give us good news.  It was complication after complication, from pneumonia to sepsis and what seemed to be everything in between.  Even still, we stayed with her, we prayed with her, we held her hand and talked to her.  On New Year’s Day, she finally opened her eyes.  By the grace of God, He had heard our prayers and she was healed despite all odds!  It was a long road to full recovery but she pulled through.  When I spoke to her about that time afterwards, she said that she could sometimes hear us talking to her and praying for her.  And when she would hear us, she would pray herself, in her heart and in her head as she wasn’t awake to use her voice.  The point I’m trying to make is that she knows you’re there, Lucy.  Keep holding her hand and talking to her.  She can hear you.  So can God.

I have been in the UK visiting Stuart and my mom and dad and on Friday my mom had a massive subarachnoid  brain hemorrhage and following emergency brain surgery is now on life support in the neuro ICU . @Thelucybelle, I’m so sorry to hear this.  I can’t imagine how difficult this must be for you and for all of your family.  Please know that I will be praying for healing for your sweet mama, praying that she fights through this and heals quickly as I’m sure that she wants nothing more than to be with you on your special day.  Stay strong dear Lucy and know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.  Sending love and hugs to you dear girl.

I’m sorry you are feeling so sad sweetie but please don’t give up hope- you’re so close!  We all know how stressful and draining this whole process can be but don’t let it kill your spirit.  Focus on the light at the end of the tunnel, no matter how small or faint it may seem to you right now.  It is there!  We all get our approvals at different times and unfortunately some of us have to wait a bit longer than others.  But your time will come too!  You’ve come this far already, just a little more to go!  And when your NOA2 comes, you can look back on this whole process and laugh at how stressed out it made you, cry at how unbelievably amazing it feels to finally have your NOA2 in hand, and breathe a sigh of wonderful relief as you and your fiancé prepare for the final stages of this arduous journey.  The best part is that you’ll be that much closer to starting your forever with your love!   Chin up my dear.  You can do this.    **hugs**

We’ve been in your shoes so we know how this feels.  Don’t worry though because the time you’ll spend waiting for your approval after the RFE will go by super quickly!  It’ll be here before you know it.

Thank you so much sweet lady!   I am so incredibly relieved and excited!  And it really was not my intention to abandon anyone but I did run off somewhere- to London to spend time with my fiancé!  Lol  The stress of it all was starting to take a toll on us, especially after our RFE, so we decided and agreed to take a break from it all and just focus on each other!  It’s been so great and time really did fly by!  I did feel out of the loop though so it definitely feels good to be back, especially since we’ve finally made some progress!  Soooo looking forward to our next steps now and grateful to finally be part of the NVC club!

You know, I hadn’t when I wrote this post.  I’ve been in London with my fiancé these past few weeks and I’d been trying to just enjoy our time together and not stress over this whole process, especially after our RFE.  I was completely oblivious to the new site until just a while ago as I was reading through catching up on the posts.  I can’t believe how much I’ve missed!  Time sure does fly when you’re having fun!  Lol  The new website does in fact show our approval.  Congrats again girly!  I’m so excited for us both and I can’t wait for the next step in this process! NVC, here we come!  Woohoo!!!!

This was a silent approval as the website and the app still show Response to USCIS request for evidence was received.

4 hours after the name updated I was woken up by lovely @Swissmiss82 (whom I swore at for a good minute as I finally fell asleep at 2:30 🤣🤣 then I saw who it was but couldn’t wake up, then she sent me a screenshot of my approval. I advise anyone to have one of these @Swissmiss82 in hand cause she knew before my email came )

 

Now about the “name was updated” as my other dear @emekus94 said, normally “name was updated” is a correction on the petition about name or address or such.  However, when they were doing May I was really in to research on some of the updates that people has no idea why. One was name was updated (never expected to get one) I confirmed this theory of name updated 99% turns to approval with quite a lot of members here so yayyyy.

 

my case only got name update on 4/5 4am but with the date of 4/4 on the new site, and the approval came on the old site.

noa 2: April 5

 

I deleted the app so I’m not sure but I think I’m on day 204? from the received date. 

 

And I wouldn’t do this again even if they give me a million dollars! 

 

I don’t know how everyone is doing it, but during the past week I broke up with my fiancé 10 times at least. Because I wanted to stop the pain one way or another. And I couldn’t go to work for the past 2 days.... so I understand why couples are drained and why some people are not as “strong” (actually this is the wrong word to use)

 

So many people helped me through this hell other than the chocolate puddings that I ate.

 Thank you sweet lady!    We took our time and compiled an even more detailed collection of evidence and sent it in on Monday.  Hopefully that does the trick.  I am praying, while crossing all of my finger and toes, for a speedy response and approval!

Thanks.  It’s ok, though.  It’s a quick and simple fix I hope. 

And asinine is not EXACTLY the word I’d use.  Add an “s” and take off the “inine” and we’re in business.
