Most of requests are really ridiculous...

 

 

They requested us to send more evidence as well and also divorce certificate of my finance which we have sent there of course !

Anyway my darling, I know for sure that you're ready for this. Complete those papers and send them ASAP. If you have copies of your first packet then send those again and add a little more if you still have some.  For sure you'll get approved after they'll received your packet. Thanks @NICK & PAULA.  As I was telling @Naes, I really did just have a laugh about it all.  You’re right, that’s all you can do sometimes.  Although, USCIS really needs to work on their sense of humour.  Geez!    

Luckily, I did make copies of everything so I will resubmit those and this time will include a statement detailing our visits with corresponding pictures.  Hopefully, that does it.

 Haha, exactly!  I couldn’t help but laugh at how ridiculous it all was.  My fiancé didn’t find it as funny though, for some reason.  But then again, I am easily amused so there’s that.  I might type up a statement detailing each visit with things we did and places we went and then attach corresponding photographs.    I’ll probably resend some of the other things as well, just in case.  Beyond that, I just don’t know.

Hi everyone.  We finally received the RFE in the mail today.  It is asking for proof that we’ve met in person and suggests sending in items we already sent in before.  We already sent in our travel itineraries, plenty of Facebook photographs which were “stamped” with our names and dates, passport photos, and my fiancé’s entire entry log to the US.  The RFE even acknowledges that we’ve sent that in but is requesting even more evidence and then goes on to suggest that we send in the stuff we already sent in.  🙄  Any suggestions?

*Edit:  As I said before, our photos had the Facebook tag of our names and then the date.  Should I attach an explanation to each photograph again stating our names and the details of the day when that photograph was taken?

Oh wow, how scary!  I’m glad it wasn’t one of your children either.  And don’t feel bad about being relieved.  That’s a natural feeling.  Being glad that your child was safe does not mean that you wish that fate on anyone else.   Like you said, it was just an unfortunate, freak accident.

Haha, I’m glad girl.  Laughing keeps us sane, especially in this K-1 process!  A laugh a day keeps insanity at bay.  

Awesome that we’re finally Part 2.  Less awesome that it happened as I was submitting my replies to you ladies, @Naes @NICK & PAULA.  LOL  

Thanks @Naes, archers in a war is probably the best description for them.  I know their job is to filter out us pesky petitioners, just wanted to emphasise for those reading how little information they have.  I understand that if there is no information to give then there is no information to give.  However, if there is info, Tier 1 will most likely not have it.  And I wouldn’t doubt that they get a bonus for the number of calls NOT transferred.  They want that money! Lol  

And I knew Tier 2 wouldn’t be able to tell me what was missing.  It was more one of those knee jerk questions because I was surprised anything could be missing at all.  I took my time and checked and double checked our application for everything on the checklist.  I even double whole punched it at the top for them, numbered every page and then labelled and separated each section with dividers.  Lol  But from reading this forum, I know that they have been asking for things that have already been sent before too.  So, hopefully that’s all it is.  

Thank you for your sweet words of encouragement, @NICK & PAULA.    At the end of the day, I am not sad or unhappy about the RFE.  I’m actually happy and grateful for it.  At least we know our case has been worked.  My fiancé was a bit annoyed by the situation but I tried to have him look on the bright side.  I know there at least a couple of people waiting from May so we are in no position to complain.  And the RFE is still moving forward in the process so we’re still on our way and we’ll get there soon.

Exactly.  I really have no idea what the purpose of Tier 1 is.  I mean, all they do is spit out the information that is available on the website but that information is not even updated properly.  Moral of the story: insist on speaking to Tier 2.

Ok so I called USCIS first thing this morning for a status update, let the Tier 1 rep give me her spiel and then politely asked to speak to a Tier 2 officer.  I said that I understood that I was in normal processing times but as it has been 6 months, I’m a bit anxious and would really appreciate having someone look into my case to see if it has been touched at all.  The Tier 1 that I spoke to was not rude but she was not very friendly either.  She said that from what she could see, my case had not been opened at all and that a Tier 2 rep would not be able to tell me any different.  I politely insisted.  I said that I was aware that they have a bit more access to my case and I would just like to see if anything had been done with it.  She said that since I insisted, she would go ahead and transfer me.  I received an estimated call back time of 150 minutes but actually received the call about 30 minutes sooner than that.  The Tier 2 officer I spoke to informed me that there was something missing from my application and that a request for additional evidence had been mailed to me on February 28.  He couldn’t say what was missing but said the letter would state what it was and would have a date that the evidence needed to be sent by.  Of course, this is not the best news I could’ve hoped for but at least I know that our application didn’t get lost at the bottom of the pile.  I am going to go through what we sent to see what we could’ve possibly missed as I thought we were pretty thorough.  The only thing I can think of is that, with our application and as evidence, we sent them copies of our catering and venue contracts as we had originally planned our wedding for February 3, 2018.  Long story short, my fiancé and I had originally planned to settle in the UK hence the original wedding date.  UK spousal visas usually take NO LONGER than 3months!  But, after my mom had a health scare, we changed our plans and decided to settle in the US instead so I could be closer to my family.  We left the wedding plans as they were for a while hoping things would process in time but of course, that didn’t happen.  Lol. How silly and naive I was!  Of course, all of that had to be rescheduled but I wonder if that is what the issue is?  @Naes @NICK & PAULA, any ideas?  Maybe they want to make sure we’re not already married?  I would think they would have access to state marriage records though, but that’s probably just wishful thinking on my part.  Lol.  Either way, I’m anxious to get the RFE letter so that I can see what the issue is and get this part over with already!  Hopefully, it comes sometime next week.

Again, the Tier 1 rep said that there had been no activity on my case and there have been no updates on the website, the app, text, or email.  I received this information after insisting to speak to Tier 2.

@Thelucybelle, you are not alone in that feeling.  All these photos are making me emotional too.  Makes me want to cry happy tears!  I’m loving it though.  And it’s SO much better than airport crying!
