How long has your wife been here and does she already have a work permit? Seems like when you file for a AOS the spouse can't work till he or she get's a work permit.

Hey we are from Vegas as well and like you it still says fingerprint was received. My wife did her biometrics on July 11th so really hoping we can get her EAD/P card soon. I'm told late October early November. Take care and hoping all the best for you.

Easy there, my friend. Be careful with those words. I hear this a LOT with foreigners (even people in my wife's country says this). And to honest, it grinds my teeth. Because it is furthest from the truth.

But the truth is Americans don't send money to parents at the same rate as people in countries like the Philippines because there are less parents needing financial assistance in America. I read that in the Philippines money being sent from OFW makes up the 20% of the country's GDP. Think about that for a second. And the biggest export in the PHL is workers, hence the name OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker).

When people make statements like Americans don't take care of their parents it can be taken the wrong way. My mother is an educated profession who owns two houses. Why would I need to send her money? How many parents you know were able to work until retirement?

There are very few pensions, 401k's, IPO's, and social security in developing countries. So why do Americans get criticized because we don't move our parents in one of our home when they turn 50 or 60, when those parents still have an active lifestyle?

The truth is that Americans DO TAKE CARE OF OUR PARENTS. The difference is when the time comes. My mother is doing very well financially and with health. But if there is ever a time where she can't do for herself (I'm hoping it will not be for a very long time), my siblings and I will be there to take care of her every need.

I believe right now the record belongs to somebody on this forum who got married 2 hours after the fiancé arrived. They went from the airport straight to the county office to sign the papers.

The only way to top that now is to get married at the airport. You can get an ordained officiant to meet you at the airport and administer the wedding vows right there with the guy or gal as they’re coming out of customs. That’ll be one heck of a day because you’ll be coming from “Sir, are you bringing any fruits or vegetables to the United States?” to: “do you take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife?”

So our Immigration stataus may be seriously delayed because Immigration officers are now being asked to help ICE with asylum cases. https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/hamedaleaziz/uscis-immigration-applications-backlog-ice?fbclid=IwAR3RIC2diqenyDm1WoC4xEdzj08C-n8cv4Owh4e-qaItPlDDxPEV_W8k-bg. We could be in for a very long wait to process our cases. Hate that we who are doing things the right way are being delayed for those who come over and break our laws.🤬

Anyone leaving the Philippines will have to pay that travel tax which is NOT included in the airfare. My Filipina wife travelled from the Phil to Las Vegas and was required to pay that travel tax as well. Hank is the man!! Anything you need to know he's the go to guy!!

I have my biometrics appointment notice! Finally! It's on 1 August at midday, a mere 69 days after my NOA1. The notice date is 7/12, so it was processed just before I put in my service request.

I hope everyone else still waiting gets their biometrics notice soon.

Thanks. Glad to hear that your case is progressing along as well. It is weird that our NOA1 took so long but the biometrics appointment followed fairly quickly after that. I guess there is no rhyme or reason to the process. Have a great summer as well!

Update: Looks like USCIS finally picked up our packet off the stack. Wife’s credit card was charged $1225 a few minutes ago, 19 days after they received it.

Guessing NOA will be a few more days and we’ll get the notifications next week.
