We were the same NOA1 date, and same approval date. I didn't ever contact USCIS or representatives so who knows if it's actually helping or just coincidence that people are getting approved after contacting.

Good to know! Could just be timing, they finally got to our box / the person came back from vacation... or something... either way, I'm happy for all the approvals being posted today!

Omggggg I am freaking out right now!!! I just saw that in my mail for this afternoon us a letter from USCIS!!!!! No update on either website as of now so I will have to wait until this afternoon to see what the letter says. We have been waiting since Nov. 10th!!!!

My NOA1 was November 14 (new site) Nov. 10 old site. I've been checking both site multiple times a day for updates for the past month, and nothing. This morning at 8 AM I crossed the Canadian border (I'm a US Citizen, I was re-entering the US). The officer says, oh by the way I can tell you your application was approved on the 6th and the notice was mailed yesterday. Anyways, its almost noon now on the 8th and the new website has just been updated to say Approved on June 7, and the old website has not been updated.

    APPROVED!!!

    RECEIVED DATE: 29/11

My fiancé asked the help with the congressman last Friday. He answered this monday saying that he opened a congressional inquiry with USCIS. So I really think talking to congressman may have helped.

I had to make a double read because I thought I’m having a deja vu... then checked to see you replied almost exact same thing in the same page 🤣🤣🤣 like 2 posts before

You and XdrivenX have so much patience really! I would freak out already... already freaking out actually from those same repetitive questions from people who do not even bother to read several previous pages at least.

I have been reading and following all threads (June-December) starting from January.

Sorry maybe I am just sick of this whole process already and cannot stand all those same questions of people 😂 Just saying

thank you for your hard valuable work!

Yeah... it can get frustrating at times, for sure... especially when the answer is on the same page, or the page before... I've had people ask questions that were literally answered in the direct post above theirs.

I am really not a patient person for things like that, but I try not to let my frustration show too often :)

I know this process is frustrating and anxiety inducing enough for people...

Naes, I'm curious to get your opinion on the value of these scans, going forward.  As I understand it, there is no way to scan activity in the new system - and it seems that USCIS is gradually moving away from the old system.  Would you say that these scans have an ever decreasing value in terms of showing trends about what kind of progress USCIS is actually making?  It seems that the weekly (or daily) scans are going to tell less and less of the real story as time passes.  Would you agree?  Is there any way for the people running the scans to gain access to the new system content?

I think that we will see a sharp dropoff at some point where they will just stop using the old system, but then again it all depends on how it all is built (and who knows!).

As far as I know, there is not a way to access the data on the system, because it requires a login and the one time password and I don't think they would take to kindly to adding 3000 cases to your profile :)

    Hello all,

I was not aware of the new/old websites. Would anyone mind explaining this? And if you could provide the links for the old versus the new that would be great.

Also, I made a USCIS account and on there it it showing that date recieved is December 7th, although my date is actually December 4th. Does anyone know why that is?

Also for other December 4th filers out there - what is the estimated date for the NAO2?

    Thanks in advance!

THe old website uses "received date" and the new website uses the date they put it into the system, slight difference.

It doesn't really matter, except for our scans we use the old website / received date.

Definitely look into VoIP phone service. I have ooma, and their unlimited international plan is around 18.00 a month. You have to buy a ooma device, but that's under 100. I've seen them for 49.99 on sale. Check where you can call with that unlimited plan, but it covers a lot of landline and mobile. And the call quality is the best out of all the VoIP I have tried.

Ooma's rates for Ukraine are 15 cents a minute to a landline and 30 cents per minute to a mobile.

Hey guys so I’ve been following this thread, I have a letter they received my petition dec 29th, but notice Jan 4th, am I December filer or January?

We use the Received date here on VJ, that would be December then if it says 'received on the 29th', verify on this website: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

That is where the data comes from we use in the scans.

The new website has a date usually 1-4 days later.

  7. Hey all! Popping in from the November thread. I see people starting to get anxious and just wanted to say be patient... if you're getting worked up already at day 150, it's going to be a long 2 months. 200 days seems to be the average right now, with some lucky folks getting approved around 180 and of course some waiting 210+.  USCIS website states that November 9th is the "Case Inquiry" date right now, and your congressman/senator may or may not be that helpful until that date gets closer. USCIS will most likely not be helpful at all until it's closer.

I'm not trying to discourage anyone, just saying... pace yourselves or the anxiety is just going to grow.

Relax. Get your house ready for your fiance, get yourself ready, etc...  try to stay busy!

November and December filers want it to go quick too, believe me!  Good luck to everyone!

Maybe contact the other one then. There are usually two congressman/congresswomen in one area. One senior and one junior.  You can also try to call them if writing an email is not helpful.

    2 Senators. 1 Representative

You will have 1 representative (congressman) that represents your district where you live, and then 2 senators that represent your entire state and you can use either one of them.

    You're frustrated?

My NOA 1 was Nov. 8th so there's still plenty of us out there who submitted earlier than yourself that are in the same boat.

I'm am outside of normal processing time according to the USCIS website guidelines and yet it still won't even allow me to file an inquiry. I tried calling and got the runaround. Wrote to my Congressman today hoping that might help.

But in all honesty, I don't really think any of that will really make a difference as the order in which others are getting approved is completely random.

So it's probably best to just to sit back and wait rather than push the issue too hard. It'll only make it the disappointment worse as the days of no updates tick by.

I read a comment on here that someone said the online inquiry system was turned off recently... might be better to try calling or emailing.

Not sure how true it is, but if it wouldn't let you submit that could be one reason.

They are pretty active on twitter too, I considering tweeting at them :) lol

Well that's what they accused me of and tried to pressure me into "confessing". But I really don't think I did anything wrong. Any work I did while in the US was online for my Australian clients, paying in Australian dollars into an Australian bank account which I pay Australian taxes on. They sure made me feel like a criminal none the less though.

Even if it is for Austrailian clients, paying Austrailian money - that is still considered working in the US, seriously.

You're not allowed to "do work" while visiting here.   I know you don't think it's wrong (and I personally don't either), but based on the laws... it is.

Good day! Were Jan filer as well. Is there any movement from Jan filers? 🙂 im new here so i havent read everything.  my fiance was here last month for a short vacation. But of course it would be costly if he keeps visiting cos of this long wait - altho it could add up as proof that we’re really together in case they ask more evidence, right?

No. They are like halfway done with November, and barely scratched December... you got a bit of a wait yet. Averaging about 200 days between NOA1 and NOA2 right now, as a guide.

Your turn should be coming real soon,  we are both Nov. 14th and I received my NO2 today, as expected it's a RFE, most likely for the absence of all court documents pertaining to my divorce, I'll know in a day or two when the mail arrives, California office is about 30 miles away.

At least their working on it and it's not a denial.. I was hoping for approval, but I'm OK with it, I just hope they don't ask for something I cant get.

    RAEprivate.jpg

At this point even an RFE is decent news, because you basically know you're getting approved as long as you satisfy the RFE. Hopefully they will turn it around quick for you!

My NOA1 day was November 14th 2017, so like everyone else, I'm patiently waiting for that letter  any day now saying it's approved.

I'm not so much emotional as I'm just impatient. I really wish there was a more accurate way of tracking this stuff.

I get it. Pretty impatient myself. I remember in April thinking "Oh, things are going well, I should get an answer about mid-May... and here we are!

Just curious, so i know the vj timeline is just an estimate, but let's say the end date stated in your timeline comes and you still don't get the noa2, what should be done?? is it usual to do a follow up?

You have to go by USCIS processing dates to determine when to follow up not VJ. Here is where you check that date: https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

Right now, that case inquiry date is November 6th, and it moves about 1 day each day...  so techincally no inquiries should be submitted that come after November 6th.  However, if they start processing January cases, I personally think that's a good time to submit an inquiry anyway.

I also recommend submitting the inquiry at that time to your congressman / senator... but you have to wait a bit, do it too early and they will just tell you they cannot help you and check back in 30-60 days.

For example, my Received Date is 11/14 and I'm at 204 days, technically still within their 5-7 month estimate. The inquiry date has not yet passed, but now that they've started processing December cases, I asked my senator to inquire on my behalf.
