You will notice a lot of RFEs are being received back these days, that's good news.

Virgins Remaining: 1598 - though 30% silent puts that number at 893, which I think is more realistic.

Question, I’ve seen for one of the members in December said there’s an old USCIS website and then there’s a new one where she confirmed.  What website is she talking about? I’ve just been checking out the regular uscis site.

    Here you go:

    "New" Case Status website: https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

    "Old" Case Status website: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

Hey @x_driven_x I forgot to put this in my earlier post but my approval only came thru the new web site.  I still show up as received on the scan and the old site.  Just an FYI for when you and the other wonderful people continue work on your counts.

    Thanks,

    Moon

Yeah, historically there has been about 30% of updates that don't show up on the "old" website... but I think it's increasing these days.

When I know case numbers, I update it accordingly in my scans, but it would be too time consuming to ask everyone their case numbers, so they end up just staying in 'Received' status most of the time.

Sooo here are my news of today... I just talked to NVC. A very nice lady said, that the case arrived, but no file# yet. It could take up to 8 weeks, but we are free to call earlier (e. g.next week). NOA2 is June 1

Thanks for the update! I was hearing 21 days or so these days to get your case number, so maybe next week will be good.

I am 5 days behind you, but i'm planning on calling on Friday and asking anyway. I've heard they are very nice there...

You're probably thinking about "informed delivery" with the USPS. If you are the US citizen, you can go to their website and sign up. USPS will then email you a scan of your incoming mail each day. That way, if you can't check your mail box, you'll know what's arriving soon. It's a good way to keep tabs on when you may be getting mail regarding your visa application.

Hi @x_driven_x Would you please mind explaining what this USPS service is for? My fiance has sent the i129f petition via fedex initially. I’m confused though.

    Thanks in advance.

Informed Delivery is a United States Postal Service service that will send you pictures in your email of all the mail you will receive that day (except what we call junk mail).

As the name suggests, it Informs you about what is going to be Delivered to your mailbox, that day.

I like it because I knew before even getting out of bed my NOA2 would be inside my mailbox later that day.

It has nothing to do with anything you SENT in.

    Hi there!

My case number doesn’t work on the new or old versions of the USCIS website (it never has). We filed on Dec 11th. For those who have been approved, how many days later did you receive a notice in the snail mail? I don’t get emails or texts from USCIS either because I don’t think we signed up for them in the initial application and website has never worked.

    Thanks!

I have mine listed in timeline, it was 3 business days

I recommend singing up for USPS Informed Delivery

    Hello guys,

I do have a general question. I am currently a Medical Student and have been a private tutor for past 3 years. My income for last year was about $21,000 and plus I get loan money for living expenses etc. I do have money in the bank as well. My question is if there will be an issue for me in terms of sponsoring my fiance. Our I-129F was already approved here in the US and just waiting for NVC and then interview. I am just trying to figure out if I should have a co-sponsor or I should be okay?

If it's just you and your fiance in your household, you should be able to meet the requirement on your income. I would also list your assets on the I-134 just to further push the scales in your favor.

It all comes down to meeting 125% of the poverty guideline for your household size, which you would barely meet.

WE JUST GOT APPROVED! December 12th, wooohoooooo

This is great news, it's also another confirmation they aren't always updated the old site... I have 0 Decemebr 12th approvals in my logs, and only 1 from the 11th and one from the 13th.

My guess is we will see more and more people with updates that aren't updated on "the old" website. It's definately good to see approvals slowly moving forward. It will probably take until the end of July for them to mostly finish the month though.

These last two weeks of this month should get more interesting though, I think they'll pick up speed on December cases.

Hello everyone, I'm following this timeline http://harveysollano.com/USCIS/uscisScanSummary.aspx   (thanks @kennharv) and I'm trying to understand, are they approving like 0.5-10% of the petitions that came on a day and move forward? What happens to the rest of the petitions?

They don't go in order, though most months (except November) they generally start at the beginning and work towards the end, but they never seem to even come close to finishing one day before starting the next. I believe they are all just thown into boxes when they are submitted, people grab a box and start working. Some people are slower than others, some go on vacation, get sick, etc... and that box will sit on their desk until they come back. It's all a guess really, but watching past months, there will be some who get their approvals way before others, even some that are after you. It's all seems to be somewhat random, unfortunately.

If you go back and look through the November, October, September threads, you can see where nightly scans were posted up in charts and see what I mean.

  10. December Full Scan 6/15   9:45pm CST

USCIS didn't get much done today unfortunately. Sometimes this means in the days after they do a ton, so who knows.

It's possible they had some internal system things going on that didn't get the updates in....

Only 13 updates today, no new approvals.

Try to enjoy your weekend, and I'm sure they'll do better next week!

From what I understand there is a more involved program that a few people have access to which can scan all the cases in a given month. The scans we can do on the app are just a very small portion of what they are able to see after running their full scans, which can take a few hours. Being a data/analytical person myself I was trying to figure out how to replicate the scans @x_driven_x and others have created but, alas, I just wait until their nightly post to get my analytical fix ^_^

Thank you, I have the case tracker app and have run a report on my case number with 500 searches, but it doesn't look as detailed as your information.

I won't take credit for coming up with this idea, the method was built by a much more veteran VJer and passed down month by month. I just happen to volunteer to do November, and now December.

I'll just say it basically identifies a list of case numbers and then simulates putting each one into the search box on the old website and logging the text that is displayed.  From there, the data is manually manipulated in an excel spreadsheet to identify what has changed and make a nice pretty pivot table and graph. It's all of that manual stuff done in excel that makes it look different than the phone apps.  It starts out simply as a list of cases, a status, and the last update date, just like the phone apps.

It's not the most difficult thing in the world, but we also don't need 100 people calling USCIS website multiple thousands of times a day and getting them to take further action to reduce people's ability to call the website. They already made sure on the new website you have to login so everyone can't search.

It's nice to have tools and to use them in moderation, but use them too much and people start putting roadblocks in place.

The idea also was less about getting a case by case update, and more on being able to have a general idea of what dates were being worked on... as consumers of the data, however, I think every month people get more and more anxious about watching it. Especially since USCIS seems to be getting slower and slower over the last year or so.

What is the normal turnaround time on an RFE once the evidence has been received? I go the update that they'd received our evidence on 6/1, but it's been two full weeks with no further updates. Isn't the turnaround supposed to go pretty quickly? (Neither of us have criminal history or previous marriages; it was only a request for more proof of in person meeting within the last two years).

I would say 2 weeks or so is about the average, so you'll probably get an update soon. That is one of their most strictest requirements, so they might be scrutinizing what you sent fairly hard... though it's always hard to say what they are doing. For all we know, they might only process certain types of RFEs on certain days. They say it can take up to 60 days though as a standard answer...

  14. 5 hours ago, Tristan1978 said:

I'm sure you have been asked many times, however is there anyway to get this info for the I-130 for IR1-CR1 visa's?

All of this info comes from the old website, https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

It is essentially compiled by getting a list of all the Case numbers, and putting them in the search box one by one and logging the result.

It's the same info all of the phone app Case Trackers use as well. That might be the most accessible way for you to look at these, but it's not quite as convenient as ew've made it in these monthly threads (thanks to @Naes, and a few others before her who started that!)

You'd need someone who could compile a list of all of the I-130s for the month, and then scan them all on a nightly basis, and then put them together in whatever format they wanted to display for people.

@Naes  do you happen to have the I-130s for each month?

@kennharv is also working on an online tool that post similar statistics, but not sure if he planned to do the I-130s or just the I-129Fs.

On the site information about the case
On the phone, they said that a request for additional evidence had been sent by mail.
No need to say. Wait for the letter.
This is very insulting and scary ... What other evidence is needed? last year we made this visa with the same documents, and everything was in order.
    Must wait ...

Sometimes they lost a document, or they want confirmation of something small.

Don't worry, RFEs are basically saying you will get approved as long as you can answer their question!

    Good luck, you're almost there!

Where do you find that scan?

All data is taken from what we refer to here as the "old" website. Anyone can search for a case number. I basically do that, for every single case in the month, and then put everything together in a spreadsheet to post it up. You can download a phone app called 'Case Tracker' that will allow you to search cases as well, but in a slightly different format that what I post.
