Zero impact as it would never make it through the House

Markip1 reacted to JC&BS in Urgent - Deportation
Right! Official govt facility can't handle an address change? Ridiculous.

Markip1 reacted to greg1984 in Urgent - Deportation
For everyone saying you shouldn't move etc. BS. We moved and the FIRST call we made was to USCIS. We confirmed our new address no less than two times with the call center. It was act of God that we got the denial. The letters address was riddled w typos the denial I mean.
As a veteran of iraq and Afghanistan. Served 12 years as an officer. I'm over this.

Markip1 reacted to milimelo in Issue 10 years green card instead of conditional green card
Before you send in the wrong card get the USCIS verbiage removed from your ss card. Update your drivers license as well.
Use only ss card and dl for employment purposes.
The correct GC will take at least 6 months. You can file online but you have to send in the wrong card as well or they’ll reject your filing (so make plenty of front and back copies - or scan).

Markip1 reacted to Pitaya in Issue 10 years green card instead of conditional green card
She was trying to save you some grief. Take in the 10 year card to SSA and DMV. To get the statement printed at the of the card saying "...Employment Authorization required ...." removed. Many state DMVs place very short expiration dates on initial DLs obtained with a 2 year GC, you will likely get a regular expiration dated DL,
Trust the knowledgeable one......

Markip1 got a reaction from AnGeLxX in I-90 Form - Potomac Service Center
Update on filing times.
Greencard was given to me with incorrect dates on it in July 2017. Submitted I90 to have it replaced in July 2017, and I just received the new, correctly dated green card this week. Around 400 days of waiting including an RFE in July 2018 for me to send them my original Greencard (which I had already done in the original 2017 submission...).

Markip1 got a reaction from NatO23 in 10 year IR1 green card given after AOS from K1
Exactly the same happened to me, the advice you've been given here is correct. File I-90, go get a stamp in your passport at an Infopass appointment and wait. It's a pretty long wait though! I'm up to 190 days since I returned mine and i'm still at "Case Is Being Actively Reviewed by USCIS". I've read it can take six months to a year to get the card back, and a part of me expects it to be returned with another error on it to be honest!
You're also right about what a great resource this website and community is. I can see how people would just think they had lucked out and keep the card, never think about it again, until they encounter problems further down the road. I initially tried to call the customer service line for advice on if this was a mistake or not, and was told that it was ok, relax! Keep the card! Luckily, the VJ education I have received knew this was bull!

Markip1 reacted to Georgia16 in Moving UK Husband to the US
Yes you can file DCF since you live there legally and have been living there 6+ months. You might be lucky and be done by Jan. if you apply now.
It's different because it is fraud to come to the us to adjust status so that is not an option for you.
But there is the normal CR-1 that takes about a year to get but since you have the option for DCF that would be the fastes rute for you guys to move to the us.

Markip1 reacted to AndyR82 in Problems getting work in the US
Thanks for all the replies and ideas.
Messaged a local agency yesterday still awaiting a response back from them. Not too bothered about getting back into Insurance but something similar I miss going into the office everyday.
Randomly sent an application to a local lawn care company that's mainly working on computers and speaking to people and actually got a response asking me to attend an interview on Tuesday, I was a little surprised!!!

Markip1 reacted to Beet83 in Moving to USA from UK
I did the b2 cohabit visa thing for 6 months and, whilst it meant we could be together, I honestly found it the hardest 6 months of my life. Moving to a new country where you don't know anyone, you're not able to work and your partner is out at work all day makes for a very lonely time. You'd think that not working would be amazing but it quickly gets boring, especially when you have no one to share it with. After we got married I actually ended up going back to the UK to pick up some temp work for a couple of months whilst waiting for my EAD to come through as I was going insane.
Just get married, I know it's not that romantic but working has made a HUGE difference to my experience out here. If you move and one of you isn't happy then it will be a big strain on your relationship.

Markip1 reacted to Jeanne Adil in Problems getting work in the US
Any chance your finance (or spouse now) is willing to move and you can apply in other states
the foreigners here have no problems getting work / this could be a state problem only
My husband is working with people from his country, Algeria, the Sudan, Syria, Germany, etc
Skip the recruiters and try sites online or go to a temp service as so many places now use a temp to full time (if person works out) policy

Markip1 got a reaction from BlueEcho in Green Card with out interview?? Really??!!
Congrats! We didn't have to interview either...which was great...except they sent through the greencard with a ten year expiry date instead of a two year date, so that had to be returned. Doh!

Markip1 reacted to Ebunoluwa in Question about NYC Infopass appointment for I-551 and I-90
Definitely an error. Definitely have it corrected, no lawyer needed. Go to infopass and see if a filled out I-90 can be
left with them to forward to where it needs to go.

Markip1 reacted to JFH in Does the Beneficiary of a Previous K1 Application Have to Submit an Imbra Waiver...?
You don't. IMBRA applies when the USC has filed multiple petitions. It doesn't apply to people who have been (intended) beneficiaries more than once.
It's less than a year since you broke up with your previous boyfriend and now you are already engaged to another. That is likely to cause some questions at the interview. That should be your main concern for now.

Markip1 reacted to TBoneTX in Marriage ceremony in US, without legal paperwork filed
Additional thought:
At every stage, this infernal immigration process is replete with nooses aimed for our necks.
Many nooses we can avoid, chiefly by reading carefully, interpreting literally, and answering completely and honestly.
Some nooses are placed around our necks despite our innocence or our honest efforts to avoid them.
The genuine tragedy is when we willfully place nooses around our own necks and tighten them ourselves.
Most of the posters in this thread have been trying to point out the above.

Markip1 got a reaction from Sunya and Tim in Dr writing me a letter for medical k1 anxiety
I followed these instructions exactly. My medical was last week, I got a letter from my GP saying all the key things, took the letter with me, Knightsbridge took a copy and the doctor didn't really even discuss it with me, just asked when was the last time I was taking any medication. So, follow the instructions and try not to worry too much!

Markip1 got a reaction from ButterFinger in Next step
May I respectfully suggest that if you do not know if you love each other, then you take some time to think about whether marriage is the right step for you both? That's a personal opinion, and I mean you no offense.
