Hellow friends:

I came from Iran using a k1 visa, and I am waiting for my green card for 8 months so far. My local office is Philadelphia. I called USCIS more than 10 times and they only say we can't guarantee when they will work on your case.

I checked the Philadelphia local office AOS timeline and I noticed that everyone gets their approval in 2 to 3 months. In some cases, 4 or 5 months.

Is there anyone else here waiting such a long time for the AOS?

Do you think it's a good idea to sue the USCIS at the federal court?

Furthermore, I have some Iranian friends from VJ who are waiting for the NOA1 for the visa process for 6 months. Also, another friend of mine, is waiting for work permit for almost 6 months.

This is blatant discrimination against Iranians!

The funny thing is that, no body gives me a job! I already applied for more than 80 jobs in 9 months! Non of them ever called me, even for warehouse and general working jobs, because my legal name is Mohammad and I'm an Iranian, although I'm not a Muslim!

I believe that America is the number 1 in human rights violations. That's what I'm experiencing everyday!

I wished my wife was inclined to move to a better country.

Mohammad is a common name in America so not true it's because of your name.

And I don't agree with you about some special agenda against people from Iran. Maybe they need to do some more security check but they do that for all people from the middle east.

And there are people waiting from all over the world for a longer time also.

Have you send a request about your EAD?

And No I do not think it's a good idea to sue USCIS for anything.

You are here and that is great but remember it's not a right you have.

Tnx for your answer

Yes I got my EAD card.

Talking about the rights, it's not even European Americans or better to say white Americans right to be here. This is the land of Indians. Only Indians can decide if it's my right to stay here or not!

Thank you for your reply anyway, my friend ☺

I do not feel that we have received any discrimination.

Not yet

This is a part of the wikipedia article about anti-Iranian sentiment:

"According to the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA), nearly half of Iranian Americans surveyed in 2008 by Zogby International have themselves experienced or personally know another Iranian American who has experienced discrimination because of their ethnicity or country of origin. The most common types of discrimination reported are airport security, social discrimination, employment or business discrimination, racial profiling and discrimination at the hands of immigration officials."

I am dealing with a case from the middle east as well. We have been shown no discrimination from USCIS or anyone else. We received our NOA2 fairly quickly. Also, they sent our case to the NVC within 2 weeks and had our case number. The only issue I've had is actually from Saudi Arabia side. The embassy has yet to give us our interview and our petition expires in 2 and a half weeks.

Well I'm

Pretty sure when everyone in America hears Mohamed, it's a Muslim that comes to mine. I know the discrimination because my best friend is from Morocco , a Muslim and wears hijab. Yes she's been greatly discriminated against and it seems nobody can do a thing about it. Even tho her skin color is white. I feel so bad for her everyday.

I live in rural Tennessee. We are fully expecting discrimination from the local population. It's a given to us. She has a pretty fair complexion. Maybe it will help.

As far as the other things you have mentioned, time will tell how she will be treated. But as of yet I feel the process has been fair and that's all I can speak for.
