  1. This is a key question. If she used a local service to apply for a B2, oftentimes the service will claim a single person is married when they are not to supposedly increase the chances of approval. She needs to review the prior DS160s she submitted to determine what the material misrepresentation is as that will need to be addressed in the I601 waiver. Good Luck!
  2. This might be helpful. The Latest Scams You Need to Be Aware of in 2024 6. Romance Scams While romance scams aren't new, their popularity continues to rise. According to the FTC, people lost $1.3 billion to romance scams in 2022, with median losses of $4,400 per person. Scammers often steal someone's identity or create fake profiles on dating and social media apps to meet victims. There's no surefire method to detect a fake, although scammers may use stock photos and make excuses for why they can't meet in person. After gaining your trust, they may ask you to buy them something or send them money. Or, the person may "mistakenly" send you money and ask you to send it back or forward it to someone else. If your bank later determines that their payment was fraudulent, the sum of the payment will be subtracted from your account. Many romance scams start with private messages on social media or dating apps. And they can target anyone—some scammers even seek to form platonic rather than romantic relationships. 7. Online Purchase Scams Online purchase scams continue to be one of the riskiest types of scams, according to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) 2022 Online Scams Report. The BBB found that people most commonly reported being victims after trying to buy a puppy online. Some scammers set up fake e-commerce stores and buy ads for the website on social media. The FTC reported that 44% of social media scams from January to June 2023 were related to online shopping. Alternatively, scammers might list items for sale on online marketplaces, including social media website's marketplaces. The scammers might take your money and never send anything in return. Or, they might be committing triangulation fraud and purchasing the item you bought with someone else's stolen credit card. You might not realize you were part of a scam unless you try to return the item or use a warranty. Always look for red flags such as too-good-to-be-true prices, lack of details or high-pressure sales tactics. Paying with your credit card can also help you limit potential losses, as you can initiate a chargeback if you don't receive a product or service. https://www.experian.com/blogs/ask-experian/the-latest-scams-you-need-to-aware-of/
  3. Is this an actual current event? Most informed people know about the elite cheating scandal from several years ago. Additionally, this was not really a widespread scam event, but rather a cheating scandal which is very different.
  4. Wow, not a lot of safeguards in the company where one person can authorize transactions that large.
  5. This is extremely shameful that our President and VeeP will not meet with the leader of the one Democracy in the Middle East. Whatever, I guess they know students will be returning to universities soon so they need to pander.
  6. This needs to be a major focus of the Trump campaign. The Trump campaign also needs to be running like it is 10 points behind. Kamala Harris told migrants ‘do not come’ to US — and 8 million showed up anyway: Inside the veep’s legacy as ‘Border Czar’ Kamala Harris told migrants “do not come” to the US, but at least 8 million came anyway. In perhaps her most famous speech as vice president, which she made in June 2021 after she was given responsibility for securing the US border, Harris tried to convince migrants to stop flooding into the US in the wake of Biden’s 2020 election victory. “I want to be clear to folks in this region who are thinking about making that dangerous trek to the United States-Mexico border, do not come. Do not come,” she said. https://nypost.com/2024/07/23/us-news/kamala-harris-work-as-border-czar-criticized-after-record-crossings/
  7. Definitely a coup run by the Democrat elites. Of course their low information voters will ignore it since the political activists on MSNBC say it was a masterful stroke. I think I heard both Larry O., and Rachel M., claim this was some sort of epic political move. Of course we know Larry O. cannot be trusted especially if someone is hammering nearby, and Rachel M. defends lawsuits by saying she is always lying on her show (https://greenwald.substack.com/p/a-court-ruled-rachel-maddows-viewers).
  8. Yeah, I saw things like #proofoflife, etc. were trending on X.
  9. Who actually believes anything said by Lawrence O?
  10. The one update from this thread is now there are fees for the I765 and I131 if those are included in the package.
  11. No, wait times are generally based on consulate workloads. Good Luck!
  12. Here is the guide for adjusting status. As @OldUser stated, you will need a package for each person. Good Luck!
  13. As the other responses stated, this would be fraud because she is not in the U.S. right now. It is illegal to enter the U.S. with a B2 visa with the intention to stay and adjust status. I know the difference seems pretty subtle, but when she enters the U.S. and CBP asks her for the purpose of her trip, if she were to answer truthfully (which she should) saying her plans are to adjust status they would not let her in. Good Luck!
  14. This may be helpful. You can delay cases at NVC indefinitely, but you may need to add newer documents along the way. I don’t think being DQ’d matters, but others may know better. Have you filled out the DS260 yet? Good Luck!
  15. You will list all their citizenships and legal residencies. Once they get their visas, they can enter the U.S. at anytime during the visa validity period (usually six months from the date of their medical exam). They can also come and go back almost immediately, but sometimes that causes issues. Just income levels are checked. Good Luck!
  16. And yet people actually vote for them. Jonathan Gruber was right.
  17. Yes, easiest to change it to your married name after receiving the GC as the SSA has difficulty when someone is using a form of ID with the maiden name. Good Luck!
  18. Has anyone actually seen Old Corrupt Petulant Joe in the past 4-5 days? Does he know he suspended his election? Did he ever give a reason why?
  19. Maga extremists? I know a lot of folks that use the Let's Go Brandon phrase, and they are definitely not extremists. Maybe the Democrats should clean up their own house first of their political extremists before casting stones.
  20. Yes, foreign income is exempt up to a point ($126.5k). We filed jointly when my now wife arrived and we got married. Have you applied for or received your SSN? Good Luck!
  21. Apparently they found some issues with either this application, or any previous applications she may have submitted. Sounds like she will need to submit a waiver (I601 I believe). This is often lawyer territory as it is easier and more personal to discuss with a lawyer than in a public forum. Good Luck!
  22. Wow, that is pretty interesting. I have never heard of an N400 being approved without a civics, and English test. I know when my wife's N400 came up she also had an I751 pending and the IO conducted a very brief I751 interview prior to my wife's N400 interview, but my wife still had a civics and English test. One other question, was your spouse with you for the I751 interview? Good Luck!
  23. As to the lawyer's advice, I agree with @SalishSea, I would be leaving this person as soon as possible. I would recommend the CR1 over the K1 as it is a far superior visa, and less costly. K1 may or may not (YMMV) be faster, and I am not sure how the CCP membership would impact the K1, but I believe it can be overcome with a spousal visa application especially if it can be showed to be work related only. You may want to ask the CCP question specifically in the China regional forum from members that may be more familiar. As to coming her as a visitor, getting married on the visit, and leaving for a subsequent spousal visa application, that is perfectly legal. Good Luck! P.S. Tagging @pushbrk as he may have more information.
  24. OK, I am curious, you say the N400 interview was canceled, did you ever go to an N400 interview? I have never heard of an N400 being approved without an interview. As to the notice, my wife received the same notice after her joint I751/N400 interview. Good Luck!
