  1. Apparently not an isolated incident. https://www.thedrive.com/news/hertz-charging-a-tesla-renter-for-gas-was-not-an-isolated-incident
  2. Not really my point. I was getting at the false mentality that an Ivy education is somehow superior to an education from another good school.
  3. My thoughts as well. The U.S. has been behind Europe in curtailing these irreversible procedures, and it seems it are starting to come around.
  4. Interesting study. New Study: Trans Suicide Rates Double After Gender Surgery Agroundbreaking study has brought to light alarming findings regarding the mental health of transgender individuals who have undergone genital surgery. The research, which investigated the rates of psychiatric emergencies and suicide attempts before and after gender-affirming surgery, has uncovered a disturbing trend that demands immediate attention and action. The study’s results shed light on the complex challenges faced by the transgender community and the urgent need for comprehensive mental health support throughout the transition process. One of the most shocking revelations from the study is the dramatic increase in suicide attempt rates following vaginoplasty. The research found that the overall rates of suicide attempts doubled from 1.5% to 3.3% (p=0.017) after this particular gender-affirming surgery. This finding highlights the immense psychological toll that the transition process can take on individuals and the critical importance of providing ongoing mental health support. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/other/new-study-transgender-suicide-rates-double-after-gender-surgery/ar-BB1jMREb https://www.auajournals.org/doi/epdf/10.1097/JU.0000000000001971.20
  5. I would only add in the "Other Fees" row translation services. Good Luck!
  6. Did she submit the form immediately upon the window for filing opening? Others have had issues with the online system when they submit minutes after the window opens, but the IO should have indicated that at the interview. Otherwise, I would be calling USCIS and requesting "Infopass" and try to get a Tier 2. Also, the notice should show up online at some point in the near future. Additionally, it could be a glitch where an IO simply made the wrong selection in their system. Good Luck!
  7. I think this is in the context of someone just looking at possibly getting a GC through you. Of course we do not know her or you, hence the advice to be careful. Good Luck!
  8. The co-sponsor needs needs to fill out one I864, and if the co-sponsor is married, they should probably have their spouse fill out an I864A as many consulates request that. Your friend will also need to fill out their own I864 even though she is using a co-sponsor. I believe the I864(s) and evidence of ongoing relationship, but others may know more. Depends on the consulate and their backlog of work. Good Luck with your friend.
  9. That is my memory from when my wife naturalized. In her case it was travel between when she submitted the N400 and the interview, and the IO only asked for dates and destinations and did not seek any evidence. She was asked again at the oath ceremony, but she had not traveled between the interview and oath. Congrats on finishing!
  10. Why are they insisting on using the label “Ivies”? There are a lot of great schools out there, and most of them are no where near the Northeast.
  11. My wife continued to receive notices after she completed naturalization. You did request the notice be resent, so if you naturalize, you will have it, but overall, you should be fine. Good Luck!
  12. The CBP officer will make the ultimate decision as to the length of stay, so I would keep travel plans flexible in case they only allow 2-3 months of stay. I could not find any guidance after briefly reviewing the CBP website, so maybe they will get 6 months, maybe not. I also could not find any relevant posts here on VJ, but someone may have some experience. Good Luck!
  13. Interesting article, why are they focused on the negative instead of highlighting the positive?
  14. I know a lot of folks that get sick in ICE vehicles as well. Honestly, I was driving on a test trip going down from a pass with a lot of switchbacks using just the transmission low gears to regulate the speed, and the test engineer in the back blew chunks when we finally stopped. We laughed a lot. That being said, the one pedal driving is a bit funky to get used to, but it does help save the brake pads when stopping a very heavy vehicle. Also, it can be shut off at least in the EVs I drove.
  15. Greedy corporations…. Wholesale inflation surges again, PPI shows, leaving Inflation still sticky The numbers: U.S. wholesale prices jumped 0.5% in April in another sign of sticky inflation. Economists polled by the Wall Street Journal had forecast a smaller 0.3% increase in the producer price index. Wholesale costs often foretell future inflation trends. The increase in wholesale prices over the past 12 months rose to 2.2% in April from 1.8% in the prior month and hit the highest level in a year. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/wholesale-inflation-surges-again-ppi-shows-inflation-still-sticky/ar-BB1mmOr4?ocid=BingNewsSearch
  16. Sneaky practice? Shrinkflation is just another way to say inflation, but of course Old Corrupt Petulant Joe Biden blames the corporations. Clueless.
  17. Maybe this guy can give us an example. UCL Professor's Controversial Tweet on Pandemic-Driven Population 'Culling' Sparks Outrage In his controversial tweet, McGuire stated: "If I am brutally honest, the only realistic way I see emissions falling as fast as they need to, to avoid catastrophic climate breakdown, is the culling of the human population by a pandemic with a very high fatality rate." The tweet was deleted a few hours later, but McGuire showed no regrets for his statement. The incident has raised concerns about the professor's views on humanity, despite his reputation as a well-known expert in his field. McGuire later clarified that he meant a socio-economic shock to slash economic activity could reduce emissions, not an actual culling of the population. However, the damage was already done, with widespread condemnation of his initial statement. https://tr.im/world/united-kingdom/ucl-professors-controversial-tweet-on-pandemic-driven-population-culling-sparks-outrage
  18. Boarding passes or an itinerary would work. Good Luck!
  19. Why would anyone want to actually spend tourist money in NYC? Times Square tourist mom, 36, stabbed by maniac was leading school trip to NYC: ‘Don’t feel safe there’ The tourist mom stabbed in the chest by a knife wielding maniac in Times Square in broad daylight on Saturday was chaperoning a group of school girls on a class trip when she was attacked — and her family has no plans to visit the city again. “We don’t feel safe there,” the victim’s husband, John Lohr, told The Post. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/times-square-tourist-mom-36-stabbed-by-maniac-was-leading-school-trip-to-nyc-don-t-feel-safe-there/ar-BB1mkCnS
  20. Not sure about the rest, but as far as entering, you might want to try a land border with your expired GC and I90 receipt. Also, if you have proof of your plans to reside in the US, rental agreement, mortgage, etc., I would have that handy. Good Luck!
  21. DCF is only accepted under exceptional circumstances (see link). If you have an immediate need to repatriate back to the US, DCF may be an option, but you need to explore that before filing an I130 to USCIS. If you do believe you qualify for an exceptional circumstance DCF, here is a link of someone who recently went through DCF in London. Good Luck! https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-6-part-b-chapter-3
  22. Personally, I would wait for an RFE or the interview as I don't really trust USCIS to actually match it up to your case, and if they fail to do that, you may end up needing to do another medical. Just my thoughts. Good Luck!
  23. Usually you will receive some form of notice that your case has been transferred. As @Crazy Cat mentioned, RFEs can come at any time. The I485 will process as it goes, some get lucky with quick processing, others face more lengthy waits and so far no one has come up with a solid reason why. It sounds like you are set with your L1 at this time, so just keep checking, and if an RFE does occur, respond to it as soon as possible. Good Luck!
  24. This may be helpful. Good Luck!
