  1. Hmm, about time. Stanford students who occupied president’s office charged with felony burglary https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/policy/education/3032514/stanford-students-occupied-presidents-office-charged-felony-burglary/
  2. Should be a big deal at the interview. You should be able to review any DS160 changes or corrections there. Good Luck!
  3. Seems it is not as rosy as a Myorkas press release might want us to believe. US struggles to deport illegal migrants at border amid shortage of flights There was then a final category “very hard to remove” – those from countries which refused to accept US flights. According to official figures, US immigration and customs and enforcement made 679 deportation flights from January to May. Of these nearly 60 per cent were destined for Guatemala and Honduras. There were 46 flights to Colombia, 42 to Ecuador and 12 to Peru, carrying only a fraction of the illegal immigrants from those countries. But there were only 10 to Africa and just one to China, despite the arrest of nearly 13,000 Chinese migrants. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/us-struggles-to-deport-illegal-migrants-at-border-amid-shortage-of-flights/ar-BB1nUnsO
  4. Then you may qualify for DCF under exceptional circumstances. Here is a relatively recent thread of someone who went through DCF in Naples. I also added a thread for someone who detailed their DCF process in Tokyo. The process should be similar in Naples, and the first thing you need to do is email the Naples consulate and provide the information from the second thread. Good Luck!
  5. It is not clear, is your U.S. based employer requiring you to repatriate back to the U.S.?
  6. Would anyone be surprised? Trump hush money trial judge Juan Merchan warns parties of incriminating Facebook comment the day before the verdict https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13507435/trump-judge-hush-money-case-notifies-lawyers-facebook-post.html
  7. I would have your husband fill out an I864A. Many consulates request it, so it is better to have it ready. Good Luck!
  8. You could still file an I90 with no cost since this is a USCIS mistake, and then provide the I90 receipt NOA with your N400 application. Good Luck!
  9. Having a case reviewed by a supervisor is common. Back when my wife and I did our AOS interview we went through the same thing, and we heard back in a couple days. What was the overall tenor of the interview? If positive, I would expect you would hear back soon. Good Luck!
  10. Since the Biden Administration has fully embraced the entire DEI farce, I will post this here. I do love the headline. Didn’t Earn It So perhaps a jeering minority will rid us of today’s most egregiously indefensible phrase: “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.” It’s a textbook example of doublespeak, the term inspired by Orwell’s 1984 dystopia in which the Newspeak language enables citizens to engage in “doublethink”—simultaneously holding two contradictory beliefs. The words in DEI sound like admirable goals, but the officials mouthing them are working to do just the opposite, as Florida governor Ron DeSantis observed when he banned DEI initiatives at public universities. What DEI really stands for, DeSantis said, is “Discrimination, Exclusion and Indoctrination.” That formulation hasn’t caught on, but another one has: “Didn’t Earn It.” It went viral this spring after Ian Miles Cheong, a conservative journalist, and Scott Adams, the Dilbert cartoonist, tweeted it to their 2 million followers on X. Adams, who had fearlessly predicted in 2015—six months before the first Republican primary—that Donald Trump would be elected president because of his skill as a “master persuader,” tweeted another forecast: “Whoever came up with ‘Didn’t Earn It’ as the description of DEI might have saved the world. Normally, the clever alternative names people use to mock the other side’s policy are nothing but grin-worthy. This one could collapse the whole racist system. It’s that strong.” Sure enough, “Didn’t Earn It” has become an Internet meme, a buzz phrase on social media, and a conservative talking point on cable television, radio, and podcasts. It appears in posts linking to Kamala Harris, the plagiarism accusations against DEI officers at Harvard and MIT, the 50 percent failure rate on tests of medical students at UCLA, and the sentencing of a DEI executive for stealing $5 million during her work at Facebook and Nike. In the surest sign of its success, “Didn’t Earn It” has been solemnly denounced by DEI executives, progressive pundits, and the left-wing watchdogs at Media Matters, which was so alarmed that it published a report documenting the phrase’s popularity and—inevitably—labeling it “racist.” https://www.city-journal.org/article/didnt-earn-it
  11. I still remember what Peter Gohossian did several years ago. Academic publications are becoming a joke. https://psmag.com/education/a-philosophers-hoax-embarrassed-several-academic-journals-was-it-satire-or-fraud
  12. I hadn't heard before that Zelenskyy was threatened by the Ukraine power base when he took office. Why Zelensky won't be able to negotiate peace himself Zelensky defeated Petro Poroshenko in a landslide victory in 2019 largely because of a promise to implement the Minsk Agreement and start to move toward peace with Russia. But he was pushed off that platform by a backlash in Ukraine and lack of support in the political West. Ultranationalist leaders defied Zelensky and warned that a ceasefire and fulfillment of his campaign promises would lead to protests and riots. More seriously, they threatened his life. Dmytro Yarosh, the founder of the fRight Sector paramilitary organization threatened that, if Zelensky fulfilled his campaign promise, “he will lose his life. He will hang on some tree on Khreshchatyk boulevard if he betrays Ukraine and those people who died in the Revolution and the War. And it is very important that he understand this." During a presentation announcing Zelensky’s creation of a National Platform for Reconciliation and Unity on March 12, 2020, Zelensky advisor Sergei Sivokho was thrown to the ground by a large gang from the Azov battalion. https://responsiblestatecraft.org/how-will-the-war-in-ukraine-end/
  13. Yes, I have heard quite a few folks say this guy was wronged by the system. I will admit the system in Michigan is far from perfect, but lack of knowledge on his part does not alleviate his responsibilities. He drove for 12 years on a suspended license, then finally took care of the issue that caused the suspension (we can debate suspending a driver's license for not paying child support, but I guess they were trying the carrot and stick approach), but it is his responsibility to get his license re-instated by going to the SoS in MI and show them the evidence he can now receive a valid DL. He missed two-three renewals in 12 years, they will need a new picture, etc. to get him a valid license, but apparently he thought they would just send one to him. I still say this is on him, and hopefully this little viral incident educated him a bit.
  14. If the visa has been issued (online status should move from Ready to Issued), it should not take too long, maybe a week or two. Good Luck!
  15. Fire hydrants? Really? Hundreds of Los Angeles fire hydrants stolen as fire season starts Fire hydrant thefts join a spate of street lamp pole thefts in Pasadena and the rise of electric vehicle charging thefts nationwide as infrastructure theft for scrap metal becomes a serious problem for billions of dollars in taxpayer investments. In 2014, California voters passed Proposition 14, which allows theft under $950 to be charged as a misdemeanor. With a limited amount of prosecutorial resources, prosecuting thefts under $950 in resale value is a lesser priority than violent crimes. Leaders point to a combination of police shortages and lack of criminal prosecution as enabling infrastructure theft that could put public safety at risk. https://justthenews.com/nation/states/center-square/hundreds-los-angeles-fire-hydrants-stolen-fire-season-starts
  16. Processing times for the DC Field Office is about 25 months for the I485. Good Luck! https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/
  17. Are they permanently located in the US on their TN visas, or do they cross regularly?
  18. 1) If current salary meets requirements, no need to list any assets. 2) Tax transcripts by themselves are enough as they already contain all the W2 information. If you do not have tax transcripts from the IRS, you can provide copies of your tax return along with the W2. Don't mix and match. Good Luck!
  19. So when Democrats do it, it is good, when Republicans do it it is election year politics. Seems hypocritical.
  20. I have been hearing similar comments. The veteran players need to look at the long-term instead of playing petulant games with Clark. If she can help raise the relevancy of the game, everyone in the WNBA will win.
  21. Maybe the WNBA can employ some enforcers. This may generate some additional interest. The problem with Clark is that she is on a truly bad team, and it will take several years before they are competitive. As to the rest of the WNBA, the NILs in college are making many envious of the rookies who were making money in college whereas the veterans did not have that opportunity. We shall see how it all works out in the end.
  22. I agree, I would pursue the spousal visa process. You can visit while the process is ongoing, but make sure you both research CRBA assuming the child is born in Canada so you don't have to deal with trying to expedite a new I130 when the child arrives. Good Luck!
