Usually you will receive some form of notice that your case has been transferred. As @Crazy Cat mentioned, RFEs can come at any time. The I485 will process as it goes, some get lucky with quick processing, others face more lengthy waits and so far no one has come up with a solid reason why. It sounds like you are set with your L1 at this time, so just keep checking, and if an RFE does occur, respond to it as soon as possible. Good Luck!

This may be helpful. Good Luck! -
Having an already approved I130 will help since you do not need to wait for that approval before the I485 is processed. That being said, I485's process on their own time clock. Is your I485 being processed as an employment based application or a family based application? Don't you already have a company lawyer do the work here? Regardless, lawyers cannot speed up processing times at USCIS. Evidence of an ongoing marriage, but not a basis for expedite. The only potential would be if you receive an RFE for more or missing evidence. I am not sure about the last question. Usually NBC handles transfers between offices, so maybe that means your I485 is being moved to your local office. Good Luck!

I know @Nature Boy 2.0 is a big fan, but Nancy Pelosi can be quite petulant. Pelosi rebuked to her face during Oxford debate after condemning Americans clouded by 'guns, gays, God' Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., was rebuked as an "elite" during a recent Oxford Union debate, where she argued that populism in the United States is a threat to democracy. Pelosi — a self-described "devout" Catholic — said during the April 25 debate that certain Americans, whom she considered to be "poor souls who are looking for some answers," refuse to accept the answers Democrats give them on particular topics due to their beliefs about "guns, gays, [and] God." Challenging Pelosi's position in the debate about populism, Winston Marshall, a musician who was once a part of Mumford and Sons and now hosts the "Marshall Matters" podcast for The Spectator, spoke in opposition to the Oxford Union motion that "This House Believes Populism is a Threat to Democracy." https://www.foxnews.com/politics/pelosi-rebuked-oxford-debate-condemning-americans-clouded-guns-gays-god

Daily Update on Biden Tanking America (Part 2)
Dashinka replied to TBoneTX's topic in Current Events and Hot Social Topics
Hmm, I was always told that Trump is the liar-in-chief. Biden tells a lie a minute during CNN interview LIE 8: “[Inflation] was 9% when I came to office.” This is the lie of the night. Biden continues to pretend that the US was in terrible shape when he took office, when it was already on the rebound — thanks to Trump’s Warp Speed project that vaccinated people quickly against COVID. Inflation was a measly 1.4% in January 2021. Then Biden went on a first-year drunken-sailor spending spree, and inflation skyrocketed. https://nypost.com/2024/05/09/opinion/biden-tells-a-lie-a-minute-during-cnn-interview/ -
To be clear, since she is not currently inside the US, adjustment of status is not an option. I know it seems ticky-tack, but the rules are the rules, and people are not allowed to enter the US on a visitor visa with the preconceived intent to stay and adjust status. That being said, she can try and get a B2 visa to visit, but it will be a hard bar to overcome her immigration intent since there is a pending I130 for her. You can also try an expedite (possibly under humanitarian grounds) of her I130 petition (slightly faster, but by no means immediate). Hopefully you have also considered the high price of healthcare here in the US. Good Luck! https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-guidance/expedite-requests

Does name change at N400 interview causes delay?
Dashinka replied to stech786's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
Just adding - in front of a Federal Judge. That may be a stretch, but who knows. At the oath it usually takes between 2-3 hours. About an hour to check everyone in, and depending on the amount of people naturalizing and how long the judge or facilitator talks another 1-1.5 hours to do the oath and pass out the naturalization certificates. Good Luck! -
Does name change at N400 interview causes delay?
Dashinka replied to stech786's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
I agree, it could in some circumstances. For instance if you naturalize at a USCIS office that regularly conducts administrative oath ceremonies, those with a name change will need to wait for a judicial oath. Some offices only do judicial oaths, so there would be no delay. As an example, my cousins recently naturalized through the Detroit office with a name change, application late (Nov/Dec) 2023, oath Feb. 22, 2024. That being said, if you desire a name change, doing it through the N400 is a good option. Good Luck! -
A little confusing, are you asking if a query of your B2 history will impact an upcoming application? Assuming so, I don't think so. Good Luck!

You can, or your spouse can take it with them to the interview. Only include your spouse's income if it will continue after she immigrates to the US. An I864A does not seem warranted in this case, but consulates have been known to request them at the interview. You may want to have one filled out for her to take to the interview just in case. The instructions from the consulate seem confusing. With any IR visa application, and I864 is required and all dependents (with a few rare exceptions) regardless of citizenship need to be counted on the I864. Here are a couple of relatively recent threads regarding DCF in Japan that may be helpful as a sort of guide. Good Luck!

Also, "refused" does not mean "denied". A few years ago for some reason the consulates started using the term "refused" instead of "administrative processing" to indicate a visa has not been "issued" yet, but is still under consideration. It took you a couple of months to get the documents you should have already had, it may take a consulate some time to process and verify them before they can make a final decision on the visa. Good Luck!

Help! N-400 PDF glitch in newest version! What to do!?
Dashinka replied to dave2's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
It appears so. So AR will not allow you to switch the answer in Part 10? Also keep in mind the IO will review the N400 with you at the interview, so any glitches can be corrected at that time. It is also an opportunity to inform USCIS of their issues. IMO most people are doing the online filing, but it is a personal choice. Shouldn't as processing timing is based on your local office. To the best of my knowledge, paper forms are scanned so by hand or using AR should not impact processing. No impact. Good Luck! -
N400 Part 9 Question 16. Is it mandatory to answer?
Dashinka replied to dave2's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
Yes, reading questions 15 (both parts), and 16, you are right, question 16 appears not applicable if the answer is No to both parts of 15. I would leave 16 blank. The IO at the interview will review the entire form with you, and if there are any questions at that point you can clarify. It would be interesting to see if doing this online if question 16 even comes up if the answers to 15 is No. Good Luck! -

Mom is ph citizen with a green card
Dashinka replied to Pauie18's topic in Working & Traveling During US Immigration
Yes, just get a ticket and have her come back. Again, as others have said, she should not agree to sign an I407 or give up her GC. If you are quite worried, maybe look at coming across a land border. Good Luck!
