Clarification on Family visa
Dashinka replied to Ay_zero's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
Consular Report of Birth Abroad. You refer to her as your daughter, are you a biological parent? If yes, you may be able to pass on US citizenship to her through the CRBA process. If not, then you need to file the I130. -

how to bring mother back?
Dashinka replied to brzfromfl's topic in Working & Traveling During US Immigration
I tend to agree for the future. Too bad USCIS/DoS does not have an automatic conversion of a GC to a B2 with a valid and processed I407. -
how to bring mother back?
Dashinka replied to brzfromfl's topic in Working & Traveling During US Immigration
I second the thought of getting on a plane and coming back. If there are questions, answer them truthfully, but there is no obligation to give CBP any additional information. Good Luck! -
Most B2 applications are decided by what is put on the DS160. The CO may or may not ask any questions regarding work experience, but if they do you need to answer truthfully. Good Luck!

Seems like there are some protests going on. Yep, good progressive idea. Maryland County’s Electric School Bus Program Resulted in Millions of Dollars in ‘Wasteful Spending’ “All of the buses received during fiscal years (FY) 2022-2024 were delivered beyond the contractually required delivery date,” the OIG report stated. As a result, the school system spent “over $14 million to acquire diesel buses to compensate for not receiving the anticipated electric school buses.” In addition to the delays, many of the electric buses have been “inoperable for extended periods,” with the inspector general estimating that “MCPS should have assessed the [electric bus] contractor approximately $372,000 for failing to provide serviceable buses between FYs 2022 and 2024.” https://www.dailysignal.com/2024/08/01/maryland-countys-electric-school-bus-program-resulted-in-millions-of-dollars-in-wasteful-spending/

Condional GC expiring soon-ish
Dashinka replied to tahm's topic in Working & Traveling During US Immigration
My wife traveled with a GC about to expire (still valid when she departed) and she had no issues. We filed the I751 in the proper filing window, and while she was away her GC expired, but she had her valid extension letter. I have never heard of an airline clerk doing anything related to six months validity, but when my wife was traveling with her extension letter, she did have an airline employee ask to keep it, luckily she had a copy to give her. You should have no issues traveling (and re-entering the US) on a valid GC regardless of how long before it expires. The CBP carrier guide does not mention anything related to a six month period, so take a copy of that with you. Good Luck! https://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/assets/documents/2023-Nov/Carrier Information Guide ENGLISH.pdf -
Unintended left wing, Democrat, progressive consequences? Despite mounting proof that offshore wind hurts whales, the media, feds and activists deny harm “Absolutely, 100%, offshore wind kills whales,” the scientist told the Daily Mail. The survey vessels use loud blasts of sonar sound to map the seabed floor in preparation for the installation of high-voltage cables and monopiles, which are hundreds of feet tall with an over 30-foot diameter. The monopiles are pounded into the seabed with specialized ships. NOAA data, according to the Daily Mail, shows that humpback whale deaths in New York, New Jersey and Rhode Island waters went from an average of two per year before 2016, when wind developers’ sonar vessels began mapping the seabed. Then deaths went to an average of 10 in the years since the activity began. Last year, 20 whales were found dead in the region. Gerasoulis used his software system — named after a 41-foot humpback whale, Luna, who was found in Long Island, New York in 2023 — to map the traffic patterns of sonar vessels and the location of dead humpback whales. The statistical tests on the Luna system, according to the Daily Mail, show that there’s a statistically significant connection between the two. https://justthenews.com/politics-policy/energy/despite-mounting-evidence-offshore-wind-harms-whales-media-feds-and-enviros

Interesting read. With the targeting of the Hezbollah leader and the Hamas leader in places they thought were relatively safe, I agree with @Pooky, the antagonists in the ME and in particular Iran, and Lebanon must be shaking in their boots. Hezbollah has made a fatal mistake Officials within the IDF are calling for escalation Yet now, Hezbollah finds itself in a deeply precarious situation. The group initially denied Saturday’s strike — perhaps unsurprisingly given that they killed not Jewish soldiers but Druze children. They realise that this is bad for them. Nasrallah must also know that the blame for further escalation now lies with Hezbollah: the consensus is that the group fired heavy rockets at an IDF base on Mount Hermon, above Majdal Shams, but that one of the rockets overshot the target. During the 2006 Israel-Lebanon War, which began after a cross-border Hezbollah attack led to the kidnapping of two Israeli soldiers and the killing of eight others, Israel devastated large parts of south Lebanon. Afterwards, Nasrallah declared that, had he known that Israel would have reacted so ferociously, he never would have countenanced such a raid. Yet he also repeatedly boasted that Hezbollah had “won” the war. (As a friend in Beirut later remarked to me: “Any more ‘victories’ like that and we won’t have a country left.”) https://unherd.com/2024/07/hezbollah-has-made-a-fatal-mistake/

I like articles on UnHeard, and the commenters are extremely knowledgeable. Why is it that left wing MSM outlets do not allow commenters for their articles? German EV demand stalls as consumers reject green tech A prevailing view is that transitioning away from fossil fuels is inevitable, though not imminent. But as consumers reject new green technologies, even that supposed inevitability is coming into question. Earlier this week it was reported that the German luxury car-maker Porsche is scaling back its ambitious sales targets for electric vehicles due to reduced demand, with the company stating that “the transition to electric vehicles will take longer than we assumed.” The original goal of making battery-only cars 80% of the manufacturer’s sales by 2030 is no longer realistic, and Porsche is joined by Mercedes-Benz after the latter recorded “a 25% drop-off in sales of fully electric cars”. The retreat from electric vehicles is not limited to Germany. In the United States, General Motors has announced, also this week, that it will delay the development of new EV models and postpone the opening of an electric truck factory, while Ford Motor replaced plans for a factory that was designed to build electric SUVs with plans to build combustion engine pickup trucks. And there are good reasons for this. As the energy writer Robert Bryce has calculated, Ford “sold 23,957 EVs during the quarter, but it lost USD 1.14 billion while doing so. Thus, Ford lost $47,585 for each EV it sold.” https://unherd.com/newsroom/ev-demand-stalls-as-consumers-reject-green-technology/

Enter US on the K1 Visa
Dashinka replied to Rosaly's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
To my knowledge, other than showing the check in clerk your valid visa allowing you to enter the U.S. you do not have to wear a badge saying “K1”. As to US CBP, you go through the visitor line to the best of my knowledge, but usually there are liaison officers in the entry area of the airports that you can ask for sure when you arrive. Good Luck! -

I don’t think you would need a lawyer. It seems you will have the evidence showing you answered the question from the DMV that you were not a USC, and the proof you never voted. I expect this is something the IO’s have seen before. Good Luck! -
