It appears I was wrong, there is no law as far as I can find requiring an OEM provide replacement parts for a period of 10 yrs. In general, an OEM will support a vehicle for around 10 yrs after it leaves production, but YMMV. I know with my wife’s car which was within the warranty period, I had to replace a side mirror that I damaged, and it only came in one color so it had to be painted. It is hard to say how long OEMs will support software particularly as cars move into the realm of smart phones.
