DCF Request Tokyo -- Job Offer in USA
Dashinka replied to Tymotal's topic in Direct Consular Filing (DCF) General Discussion
Here is a thread with someone that went through Tokyo with DCF, it might be helpful. It sounds like you are just in the investigative phase, and it sounds like the consulate will not respond. Look at the list @Seashell90 posted and provide that information (if you haven't already). Good Luck! -
Jury Duty!!!!!!!
Dashinka replied to Crazy Cat's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
My wife was also selected for jury duty several months ago. Here in MI we are scheduled for a date, and the day before we call in or check online and if they need us, we are to report the next day. In my wife's case, she was dismissed and never had to go. -
A leftist news organization acting with malice and in a very petulant manner could lead to a sizeable payday. CNN Could Be Forced to Pay Upwards of $1 Billion from Defamation Suit from Tapper Show For that outcome to be remotely in the cards, Young needed to prove malice and according to the ruling, he’s done exactly that. “Young sufficiently proffered evidence of actual malice, express malice, and a level of conduct outrageous enough to open the door for him to seek punitive damages,” Judge L. Clayton Roberts wrote in the court’s ruling. The court felt the high bars for actual and expressed malice were met because of internal CNN messages that were extremely vicious toward Young. Correspondent Alex Marquardt, the “primary reporter” expressed in a message to a colleague that he wanted to “nail this Zachary Young mfucker” and thought the story would be Young’s “funeral.” On that declaration of wanting to “nail” Young, CNN editor Matthew Philips responded: “gonna hold you to that cowboy!” https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/nicholas-fondacaro/2024/06/24/cnn-could-be-forced-pay-upwards-1-billion-defamation-suit

Not surprising that the feds do not want any truth to come out. Is anyone still getting covid jabs? It is interesting to see how tolerant Democrats are when confronted with DEI activities, and yes, yes DC is overwhelmingly Democrat, and of course very petulant. These parents need to watch out though, Merrick G., might think they are acting like terrorists. Plan to blend predominantly Black and White DC schools leads to tense debate in liberal neighborhood Some Maury parents admitted that they would consider leaving the area if the plan goes through. The proposal has sparked in-person and online debate. Petitions for and against the plan have also cropped up, with typically liberal parents criticizing the impact integration could have on their child’s education journey, Maury parents are concerned that the integration plan could bring down averages at a school that typically scores higher on standardized tests than Miner. Meanwhile, Miner parents are worried that the proposal could jeopardize programs that helped disadvantaged students, such as free eye exams and glasses. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/plan-to-blend-predominantly-black-and-white-dc-schools-leads-to-tense-debate-in-liberal-neighborhood/ar-BB1ikGnJ

There is no reason to put life on hold while awaiting the I751. It sounds like you followed the rules, filed the I751 properly with a great deal of evidence, so the outcome should be positive. The issue is the I751 tends to take a long time (hence the 48 month extension letter), and most of it is the package simply collecting dust in someone's inbox. If you wish to become a citizen and you are eligible to apply, there is no need to wait for the I751 to be finalized to file the N400. Additionally, no one can predict if you will have an interview for the I751. Some people seem to think if a couple had an AOS you may not get one for the ROC, but no one knows for sure. In our case (much like yours, I129F, K1, AOS, ROC, and N400), things moved pretty fast for the K1 process and AOS, but when it came time for us to file the ROC, it was right at the time USCIS was slowing down processing of that application. My wife received a 12 month extension letter back then (Dec 2016), and there was no new extension letter issued, so everyone who filed at that time or after were asking how to get ADIT stamps about a year later. In my wife's case, she decided to file her N400 in January 2018, and that process from filing to oath was a little over 5 months. We did have a very short joint I751 interview, but like you we submitted a lot of marital comingling evidence with the I751, so the IO simply reviewed the form and then proceeded with my wife's N400 interview. You should be fine overall, but don't think you have to put your life on hold for the sake of USCIS. Good Luck!

Depends completely on your local office, but in general, N400's are much faster than the I751 process as the N400 tends to be prioritized. Also to add, if filing online, I agree with @OldUser, give yourself a day or two after your 90 day window opens as there are some glitches with the system that seem to mess with submission dates. Good Luck!

Yes, the instructions as to how to apply for a passport are available online at travel.gov. My point was that I found it helpful that a representative from the passport agency came to the oath ceremony for my wife and explained to the future USCs how to go about applying, and that the passport agency in Detroit would offer special processing to new citizens for 30 days including no need to give up one's naturalization certificate. This should be standard practice at all oath ceremonies, but unfortunately it has seemed to go the other route. I recently attended the oath ceremony for my cousins also in Detroit, and no representative from the passport agency was there, and no special services were offered.

I don't disagree, however potential future tariffs are on the election platforms of both main candidates for President. Voters need to be informed of the pros and cons of the positions the candidates are taking. -

This lady is a joke (Erica Foldy). The goal of government is the end of discrimination period, and there has been much progress there despite the Democrats and their identity politics. Governments trying to engage in social engineering will never be a good thing. “Somewhere around the late '80s, early '90s, people are realizing that simply trying to stop discriminating against different groups of people is not enough,” Foldy said. “The kind of ethos of those initiatives was to go beyond just avoiding discrimination and to actively changing organizations so that they were more welcoming and more inclusive.” -

Interest on the debt has now surpassed military spending under Joe Biden. Much of that is because of the runaway spending by the establishment class in DC. It is unsustainable, but of course there is no end in sight. I know the Democrat plan, income confiscation, but that will just lead to more and more spending. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/federal-debt-interest-payments-defense-medicare-children/ -

We added this to the national debt due to runaway government spending. Also, most Democrats and even the majority of Republicans in DC really do not care about the national debt, so does it really matter? I know the Democrat narrative is the Trump tax cuts only benefitted the wealthy, but of course people with some level of understanding know that is not the case. I am certainly no where near the top, and I benefitted. How does that square with the Democrat narrative? Also, a great many of the folks in the first two quintiles of the chart you shared pay little or no taxes, so why would they get a lot more back? Targeted tariffs are a tool that can be used effectively, and they should only be used when necessary. China is a good example, and sometimes even the EU has practiced in unfriendly trade protections. Yes, initially it would lead to higher inflation as it takes time to relocate manufacturing facilities to get out of the tariffs. However, I think more and more federal spending has a much bigger impact on inflation than tariffs as I can choose not to buy a lot of stuff the tariffs would impact. -

Very good analysis of how insidious this latest racist program by the "progressives" really is. How DEI Corrupts America’s Universities We can review the acronym in parts. First, “diversity.” The initial connotation of the word suggests a variety of people, experiences, and knowledge. But in practice, universities use diversity to justify a policy of sometimes explicit, sometimes implicit, racial discrimination: a total inversion of the principles of colorblind equality and individual merit. Second, “inclusion.” In kindergarten, teaching kids to be inclusive means encouraging them to share and be polite to classmates. But in the context of a university, inclusion is used as justification for excluding people and ideas that are seen as a threat to prevailing ideologies and sentiments. Finally, “equity.” The immediate association is with the principle of equality. But equity is actually a radically opposed idea. Equality is the principle that every man or woman should be judged as an individual, neither punished nor rewarded based on ancestry. Equity demands the opposite: categorizing individuals into group identities and assigning disparate treatment to members of those groups, seeking to “equalize” what would otherwise be considered unjust outcomes. https://www.city-journal.org/article/how-dei-corrupts-americas-universities -
Have to get those ESG creds. Of course in Leftist/Democrat Portland, the case against this pedo was dismissed. I agree tariffs are not the way to go as just like the minimum wage hikes, or corporate taxes, it is the consumer that pays in the end. Btw, I believe Biden is threatening major tariffs on low cost Chinese EVs. That seems counter to their stated goal of getting everyone in an EV including those low income folks the Democrats tell us they support. -

Democrats will never admit that all tax brackets benefitted because it doesn't fit their narrative of tax the rich.
