Great research on the old post! It was a certified copy from embassy stating the birth not the original bc. The original question on this topic is about name on bc. Was looking to see if anyone had a similar situation and what did they do.

The format varies from area to area, and depends when you were born.

In big cities like Karachi and Lahore, there are are Municipal Birth Certificates that were in English only, but were issued by the UC. Later, there were UC certificates that were Urdu only.  Now, most are "NADRA style" (they are not from NADRA, but look like NADRA documents hence why I call them "NADRA style") ones that are English and Urdu.

The key thing to be careful of is that MANY of the "NADRA style" certificates were issued with "late entry" for the registration date.  I know of many people who had proper Urdu birth certificates and were told by UC officials that you need to "make new format certificates".  They would give the old certificate and be given a new one with a "late entry" date.  This caused problems in immigration later.  Always keep copies of all documents for this reason.

I would immediately stop all actions on your Dad's case until your Mom's case catches up.  Otherwise, their interviews will be scheduled separately.

This is unfortunately a very common issue nowadays in Pakistan as people are told to get "new" birth certificates made.

Note that DNA testing is VOLUNTARY.  This can be a time consuming process and it costs money.

Before you do this - do you have any other documents that establish your relationship with your parents?

Old format birth certificate (usually Urdu)? - shows both parents
Old B-Form - shows both parents
Census record - shows both parents
    FRC - shows both parents
    School certificates/report cards - shows father's name
School leaving certificate (usually given at grade 5) - shows father's name
Matriculation certificate (grade 10) - shows father's name
Intermediate certificate (grade 12) - shows father's name
Your old passports - will show father's name
Your Pakistani ID card (old CNIC, handwritten NIC, NICOP, etc) - will show father's name
Domicile - will show father's name

You can submit all of these plus affidavits from relatives who were alive when you were born, and that may be able to overcome this issue.

The fact that this happened once before, with nearly identical circumstances, will make the CO even more suspicious.

Such a marriage is already rare in the US, and extremely rare in Pakistan.  In the interview, the CO has to think (among other things) "would this marriage have existed if immigration was not in the picture".

Even if the genders were reversed, it would still be uncommon (husband in 40s marrying a wife in her 20s is still possible, but getting less common with time) and likely subject to scrutiny.

No harm in applying for a K-3.  No additional fees nowadays IIRC.
At best, it may speed up your I-130, or you may actually get one (rare, but theoretically possible)
At worst, you just spend an hour or so filling out a form.

    Minimal risk, so why not.

Do you have a B-Form/CRC?  The hospital certificate + B-Form/CRC would be sufficient based on the US Department of State link, but that is if you don't already have a UC/Municipal Birth Certificate. Do you have a Union Council birth certificate or a Municipal Corporation Birth Certificate?  You can also use a Matriculation certificate as secondary proof.

    Birth Certificates
    Available
Fees: The fees vary by location.
Document Name: Birth certificate, Child Registration Certificate
Issuing Authority: Birth certificates issued by local Union Councils, Municipal Corporations, the Office of the Cantonment Board, or the CDA are acceptable, as are Family Registration Certificates (FRC) issued by NADRA.  In larger cities, such as Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi etc., Municipal Corporation-issued birth certificates prior to 2001 are also acceptable.
Special Seal(s) / Color / Format: This varies by location.
Issuing Authority Personnel Title: There is no issuing authority personnel title.
Registration Criteria: Births are to be registered with the Union Council within two months.
Procedure for Obtaining: Applicants must visit their local Union Council, fill out a form, and provide identification. The process for late registration is more complex, requiring two affidavits to be submitted to the concerning authority (the municipal corporation or small claims court, depending on the length of time after birth).  The concerning authority then issues a letter to the Union Council authorizing the late entry. Once this process has been completed, the applicants may visit the Union Council to register.
Certified Copies Available: Certified copies are available.
Alternate Documents: In lieu of a birth certificate, Pakistanis often use Child Registration Certificates or Family Registration Certificates (FRC), which list all family members and document each member’s relationship to the other.
    Exceptions: None
Comments: Birth records are inconsistent because most people only request one when required for a specific reason. Late-registered births are thus quite common.  In cases when the date of birth is in issue (such as age-limited immigrant visa classes), other contemporaneous documents such as school records are often reviewed. Birth certificates can be in either English or Urdu with English translation.

Hopefully you get a good agent, some of them are not familiar with LPRs applying (they are, by percentage, a smaller portion of the total applicants).  Of course you can always call until you get a person who knows what they are doing.  I do have to say, so far everyone we have dealt with has been very nice.

They will almost always move it to Islamabad, but there is no harm in putting down Karachi (you never know if the rules change)

    Agreed

See above.  There is no harm in putting Karachi.

I know of many people who did.  They all got moved to Islamabad, but there is no harm in putting Karachi in case the rules change, or if you have a special situation.  I do know of people who have been interviewed in different embassys in countries other than their country of citizenship, so it is theoretically possible.

pm5k got a reaction from Iffi_Malik in Ahmadis marriage certificate rejection
Do your ID documents (CNIC, Passport, etc) show that you are Ahmadi, or do they say Muslim/Islam?  The reason is that if it does say Ahmadi, you can use that to prove that you are Ahmadi.  Then, you can use the screenshot of the reciprocity page to prove that, as Ahmadis, a Nikah Nama is not required from you.

If your ID documents say Muslim, then you may have a harder time explaining the situation.  Not saying it is impossible, but you have to look at it from USCIS' point of view - if you say Muslim, then they will require a Nikah Nama.  How would they know otherwise?
