Need some guidance! I booked a flight back home to Canada to visit my family for Christmas December 7th. Well, I just received notice that my interview is scheduled for December 14th. It would be crazy to reschedule an interview I’ve been waiting for, for 14 months so I ended up rescheduling my flight for literally the day after my interview (December 15). Is this an issue? Will I be able to use my advance parole the day after my interview and use it to get back in 2 weeks later around the 29th?? I’m not sure what to do. If my green card is approved could

I ask them to mail it to Canada so I can use it to get back into the states? Or should my husband who is staying home in the states mail it to me?

Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

You will not get your GC the day after.

2 weeks later would be pushing it. He could send it,

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

No I don’t expect to have my GC the day after

my Interview but am I still able to travel using my AP or is it void after my interview?  Yes I was thinking my husband could mail it to me in Canada. Are there any issues with that?

Not an issue as long as you still have AP or Combo Card.  Just have the card sent to your US address.  It could take a week or months to receive.  The only time is really matters is for citizenship. Mary's Citizenship interview is Nov 30. We are leaving for London on Dec 8.  So if she is approved and does the oath at the interview then we have to go get her US Passport.

Ok that’s good to know! So I can leave the day after my interview with my AP?

At interview, you can ask for stamp on your PP. It's valid for a year. I got one.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Presumably you'll get same-day approval notice (I did just like many others).

Personally - I wouldn't leave the country until my online status said 'Approved'.
