Did anyone include a copy of the Reminder to file I-751 they got from USCIS in their packet? Trying to decide if we should include it. Thanks!

We didn't include the reminder notice in our packet. It probably won't hurt if you include it, but it didn't seem necessary.

For anyone who included affidavits of support from family / friends, do they have to be signed? or is it enough to have the friends' names typed?

Signed!

I think since it’s a sworn affidavit, it has to be signed and notarized by a licensed notary.  That’s what we submitted at least.

We didn’t have ours notarized. Basically this is what we followed https://citizenpath.com/how-to-write-an-i-751-affidavit/

Since the affidavit is not considered to be the best evidence, we only included 2 as it was mentioned. I know others with strong cases that don’t include any. We just erred on the side of caution.

Yeah, we used the VJ sample and it did show notary.  I’m sure both work and put the check in the box for the immigration officer.

Don’t do that. To be on the safer side, wait for 3-4 days to mail it once the window opens.

For the statements of the checking and credit card, better to include at least one per quarter

any lease or deed?

No, 60 pictures is way too much. Just 5 or 6 from different years/ occasions.

Just got our text message this morning, woohoo!

Our packet arrived at the lockbox last Tuesday, and the USCIS case status page shows that the official receipt date was Wednesday. So overall it took about 4 days from when our packet arrived to when they notified us with our receipt number.

How do you setup to receive text notification?

Thank you so much, everyone!

True it is not needed.  We did and just included a couple of select pictures (just happens to be pictures that our affidavit writers are in).  Guess it just depends on what you have and what you feel is right on this one. Wouldn't get you an RFE if you do or don't! :)

  • Evidence of the relationship:
    • Submit copies of documents indicating that the marriage upon which you were granted status was entered in good faith and was not for the purpose of circumventing immigration laws. Submit copies of as many documents as you can to establish this fact, to demonstrate the circumstances of the relationship from the date of the marriage to the present date;

This is our list. I put blanks where I took out info that is more personal for posting here (husband doesnt like much info on the internet).

Just send 1 check, less pictures, send quarterly copies of all bills and your bank statements (one per year I dont think is enough though others may disagree)

We put our pictures on word documents and grouped them that way. Multiple pictures per page and captioned.

DO NOT MAIL BEFORE WINDOW OPENS! You have 90 days when your window opens so why rush?
