The state government is messed up just like the official government.  
 

The wife received snail mail from the new mexico health department already due to her abnormal chest xrays she had in march that triggered the sputum test which all come back negative. They are requesting her to bring in her medical records and chest x-rays from overseas to be checked out for possible TB infection.  Lol 

 

How do they think we can get access to that info when it is in the Government already?

Actually it is not in the government. She would need to request the records from St. Lukes. Not sure how to go about it or if they would even provide it. I guess I know what to look forward to when my wife gets here.

 

All governments are messed up. They do not need to answer to anyone unlike private enterprise. If Amazon took 2-3 years to send you an order they would be out of business. If the government does it...Oh well tough #######.

Too late to ask, of course, but wasn’t she given the copy of her medical records and the copy of the x-rays after her medical in her country? 
We were told (in my country) that the original papers and one copy of the chest x-rays were going to the embassy and the second set, the copy, we were told to bring with us here, just in case. 
Is there a chance to contact the medical facility in her country, may be they have records?

How is it messed up?  Was her visa annotated that she has a possible health issue?  Class B or something?

Very typical for a follow up to local department of health after "potential" TB. My step daughter had to do the same.  They took another x-ray and confirmed it's negative. Offered free TB treatment that we refused, and that was the end of it. I know our file that was carried was in the packet, but isn't it all electronic now?

It does show annotation of 212g (2) (b)

class A or B  (TB)  req. Attn. of usphs at poe

Yep.  Standard procedure for them to notify state/local health department.  It shouldn't be an issue.  Good Luck.

No she did not receive anything for records since it is all electronic now, and to request from St Lukes in manila would be a pain in the rear end from the states now.

Frustrating yes, but this is normal operating procedure.  She should have had x-ray and other documentation from SLEC to carry with her.  We went through the same procedure here in Texas and it all worked out in the end.   She was tested for TB and of course it was negative just like it was the three times she was tested in St. Lukes.  If you want to vent look towards the Bureaucrats at the CDC, the same folks who went against their own science to establish policy and restrictions for Covid.  They are responsible for the sputum mess at SLEC.

Your wife was K1, and K1 still get physical packets of their records to hand-carry to POE.  CR1/IR1 don't get physical packets from USEM anymore.  All electronic now.

 

Sigh.  This means I'll have to figure out how to deal will this when Louisiana's health department comes knocking.  I still have my chest x-rays from a year ago and the results from that non-SLEC exam saying I don't have TB.  I wonder if they care which lab the x-rays were taken...

Apparently they did do something  They notified the state health department.

 

I for one think someone ought to be double checking Saint Luke's x-rays.  I'd be curious if American doctors come up with similarly vast numbers of false positives from viewing the same x-rays.

I would be curious also, or is it the SLEC needs to upgrade to the newest technologies for x-ray equipment and get out of the golden ages
