  1. Unfortunately he will have to go to the US Embassy and have his signature notarized. We will see if he can play nice and do something for his children for once.
  2. He will not contest it, but will look at it for either a money grab or something to hold over our heads. That's how things work over there, as many of us have experienced.
  3. Follow up to this post. The State Department did not accept solo parent ID and afidavit with a statement referring to the Philippine law regarding custody. We will either need to get the father involved, or retain an attorney attesting to Philippine law and custody.
  4. For the Charlotte office it took 10 months for the interview and just under 11 months for the oath ceremony. You’d want to check your local office processing time on the USCIS website. Good luck!
  5. Passports for her and the kids and social security after 🙂
  6. Our immigration journey has finally come to an end. Oath Ceremony and Certificate of Naturalization completed and received yesterday. They did not allow any guests to attend, so I was unfortunately not able to see this special moment for my wife. The ceremony took less than an hour to complete (including all of the pics taken inside). I want to thank everyone in the forum for their wisdom and experiences, as sometime this journey required with some of the twists and turns with USCIS and the Embassy. All the best to everyone that continues the journey forward.
  7. Oath ceremony invitation letter, we received it online 2 weeks ago, and the physical letter last week.
  8. Interview was on Nov 3. Oath ceremony is scheduled for next Monday, Nov 28. It may have been scheduled a few days earlier, but I'm sure Thanksgiving impacted the timing.
  9. My wife is going for her oath ceremony at the end of this month, and will be going for her passport a couple days after. I want to see if anyone has done the same process that @Chancy has described above for their minor children. We are hearing conflicting information (you know how the pinoy rumor mill goes), and I want some real life examples to go on before we take the kids in for their passport appointments. Thanks once again in advance. This immigration journey is getting close to an end.
  10. Interview last Thursday. They brought me back for the first part of the interview to clear the I751 and when I left they completed the Citizenship interview with my wife. Both were approved and we are now awaiting the Oath ceremony to be scheduled.

  12. We both went in together. We explained to security that we were there for a combo interview and let both of us in. My wife initially went in alone after being called back for the interview, and they came out in less than a minute later to bring me in for the first part of the interview.
  13. My wife just had her interview last Thursday. It was a combo interview and they brought me in for the first part for ROC as the officer stated that they cannot approve N400 until I751 is approved. We did get an email from the office to make sure she brought me. If I were you, I would go and request a combo interview, even if they haven't outright stated it would be one.
  14. Received a letter from USCIs this morning to be sure to bring your spouse to the interview. I guess that's as much of a confirmation that it will be a combo interview.

  16. Notice from USCIS that the interview has been scheduled for Nov 3. Expecting, and will be prepared for, the combo interview as the I751 still has not been decisioned.
  17. Ok, so I'm aware that my wife's kids can gain citizenship once she is naturalized (hopefully soon!). Does anyone know the process of getting the passport for the 2 minor kids and what, if anything, is required from their birth father? My wife has the Solo Parent ID and Affidavit, but there is no indication of sole custody in the annulment. Will we have to involve the birth father in order to sign off on getting them passports?
  18. My wife filed for I-751 Jan 2021 and N-400 Jan 2022. Transferred to NBC earlier this year and waiting to transfer both files to Charlotte USCIS office. Earlier this week she saw this message on her USCIS account. Does anyone know how accurate it is?
  19. https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/. Making an assumption your local field office is Houston. ~18 mos.
  20. One other thing to consider. As a Green Card holder, you are required to pay US taxes on your income. It seems you are living and working in Europe. That income is also considered to be taxable. You will need to present US IRS tax transcripts when filing the N400, or even renewal of the 10 yr green card. If you cannot provide the transcripts, then expect denial on either.
