Very confused on COVID flight restrictions to U.S.

My Fiancee swears she can't even change planes in Europe to come to the U.S. due to Covid restrictions.  How is this possible when all flights from Ukraine fly through Amsterdam or Germany, etc.?

🙄fine I’ll rephrase if you want to pick on my grammar choice.   SINCE a k-1 is exempt form these restrictions then why wouldn’t it be possible to transfer to the next flight?

Yeah the US has a ban on anyone thats been "physically present" in the Schengen area in the last 14 days. And even just a layover or transit counts. However there are certain exceptions and traveling with a k1 visa is one. Is she trying to fly after her visa is issued?

Used to be that way.  Now k visa holders are exempt

If she has a K-1 visa in her passport, she should be able to travel through to the US.  NIE (National Interest Exemption)

August 7, 2022: Wife filed N-400 Online under 5 year rule.

November 10, 2022: Received "Interview is scheduled" letter.

December 12, 2022:  Received email from Dallas office informing me (spouse) to be there for combo interview.

December 14, 2022: Combo Interview for I-751 and N-400 Conducted.

January 26, 2023: Wife's Oath Ceremony completed at the Plano Event Center, Plano, Texas!!!😁

February 6, 2023: Wife's Passport Application submitted in Dallas, Texas.

March 21, 2023:   Wife's Passport Delivered!!!!

May 15, 2023 (about):  Naturalization Certificate returned from Passport agency!!

 

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Even if the vaccine isn't available yet? As long as she tests negative within 3 days of the flight?

I looked at this, but what's not clear is being able to change planes in those restricted countries.

I have not seen that vaccination is required to enter the US.

Yes, she is.  This has been such a long, drawn out process that we're expecting that anything that can go wrong will.  I just don't want her stuck, or sent back to Ukraine.

"Travel in the appropriate class".  Meaning? K-1 wasn't listed when I looked but other "classes" were.  Yes, I googled and got here as well Einstein.
