Hello everyone. I’m in tears right now. I’m had a horrible interview experience. Wasn’t asked anything beyond how did you meet and when I answered the officer said “that’s weird”. More judgments were passed about my relationship and then I was kept standing for 10 minutes and the officer came back with this paper and told me to submit and follow the instructions. No asking me for photos or anything. Nothing. I feel so helpless.

Can anyone please help me understand what to do with the last two points ticked about the notarization in India and USA? Do I need to submit the US notarized documents in original?

HOW MUCH delay should I expect now to get approved once everything is submitted? (If I ever get approved that is).

Please help :,(

The petitioner needs to go to the notary public and notarize the statements, scan them and send them to you. You need to go to the notary public in India and notarize your statements. That’s it. These seem like pretty straightforward instructions. Take a deep breath and submit what they’re asking for. Good luck!

Submitted everything mentioned here but clearly the amount we submitted was not enough.

Just overthinking if the petitioners statements are better submitted as originals or not. But it will surely delay the whole process even further. Anyone who can give me a timeline?

Petitioner can scan the documents to you and then do a 2 day fedex delivery so you have the originals to send in if it makes you more comfortable. Make sure you include documents of an ongoing relationship (since you submitted the k1). I would also recommend reviewing the documents that your fiance submitted to ensure that you know what they wrote

I’ll keep this in mind. Thank you for taking out the time to respond. If anyone can connect me to someone who recently got done with this K1 221g or is undergoing this process, I’ll be very grateful.

Is having documents notarized a standard requirement? I did not notarize anything I sent in...!

I didn’t either. Our relationship explanation, why we wanted to marry each other was all typed off on plain white paper and we signed them. But you know hopefully you dont have to go through this. I won’t wish this process on anyone.

Strange! We did our attent to marry written out and both signed as well. It looks like what they are asking from you is fairly straight forward though! Trust me.. this process is a nightmare no matter what country you are going to.. for me to immigrate to Spain was a nightmare too! All beaureacracy (can't spell the word) is stressful! I've also dealt with Mexico and that was a nightmare in itself even though I had 100% right to citizenship there.. Just do what it asks and send it in!! I'm positive you'll get approved once that has gone through!!! You'll be reunited soon!!! Everyone in here is in the same boat and there's lots of us here!

Thank you! I hope so too. I could almost see the light at the end of the tunnel. But damn. 🥲

Different consulate require different things. My consulate wants notarized translations of everything.

The form you posted seems more appropriate for a CR1 case.  For K1, they would not need evidence of before and after photos/communications from your "wedding", I-864 is not relevant, and co-mingling of finances is not expected.

Submit what you can, with a photocopy the notarized statement from your fiance.  Also, add a fresh signed and notarized statement from each of you that you are engaged to each other and intend to marry within 90 days of arriving to the US with a K1 visa.

No.    Not at all.   “Notarized” just means someone’s ID  and signature is verified by someone who is a notary.   It doesn’t authenticate any claims/bonafides at all about a relationship.
