How's everyone doing? I hope you're all staying very patient waiting to hear from USCIS.

Here's my timeline.

GC expires - 05/22/2021

90 day window - 02/21/2021

Package sent with USPS - 02/22/2021

Package received - 02/24/2021

So imagine my surprise when I see a letter from USCIS pop up on my USPS Informed Delivery on Saturday. I get home, open it up, and it was a I-797C (which was a Reminder to File Form I-751), it also had an envelope stapled to it with a yellow return to sender sticker.

The notice date was 01/28/2021. It was addressed and sent to my previous address, even though I know 100% that I updated my address with USCIS when I moved. So I'm assuming whoever lives at my old house, sent it back to USCIS and USCIS sent it to my new house.

However, on the I-797C it was a big red stamp that says "Action Completed, Approved for Filing" below that it has some letters and number stamped (USCIS filing numbers maybe?), a date stamped (Mar 02 2021) and NBC handwritten next to it.

Did anyone else receive a reminder to file? I read that it is pretty hit and miss with who gets those.

Also, any idea what the "Action Completed, Approved for Filing" means? Does that basically mean USCIS are acknowledging they received my I-751 are it's been approved for filing and can now move forward?

We did.  Maybe a month or two prior to when we could file.

We received a reminder too.  Some time in late December/ early January.  I was surprised too.  I already had it on my calendar to do but appreciate the reminder nevertheless.

I got a reminder letter like a month before 90 day window as well, no red stamp though. In one of the posts in VJ, i read it is an internal note that uscis have but if you google it, you may find couple of answers.

As for address update, uscis is never successful on it, they never look at address updates. They sent ours to our old address as well even though we updated. Luckily usps forwarded it to our new address.

You guys are lucky. I never received that reminder to file...

BTW... I had to submit my husband's i-751 by the end of January but We were in the Dominican Republic for family related purposes. as soon as we came back, I started preparing all the documentation to send to USCIS.

I sent the i-751 packet on 2.11.21 via USPS certified mail

packet received: 2.16.21 at Lockbox

my husband green card expires on 4.14.21. Do you think we could get the extension letter before that day?

I appreciate all of you for being in this group

Hey! We got notification from FedEx that they received the Packet on 03/03. Did any of y'all receive text notification from USCIS saying they've received the packet? We're still waiting on the notification.

Since yours is delivered on March, you shouldn't expect to hear until beginning of April. There is a huge backlog and February filers haven't heard anything yet.

Are you talking about NOA1? I was talking about the G-1145 form where they would send us text messages once they receive our Packet. People usually get the text in 3-4 days after USCIS received our package.

I am talking about cashing checks and text messages. 3-4 days/1 week was before covid, 1 month is the new normal unfortunately. As an example: mine is delivered on 02/09, no news yet, no text messages, no checks cashed, nothing.

Since it was received 2.16, based on people from January filers and people from February it is taking USCIS about 1 month to start on packages and send things out. I would assume you will get the extension letter before his green card expires. Mid/End March potentially
