I am pretty sure that two k1 interviews were done in kathmandu in the last few months, following  members on visa journey.

Here is what I have.

The US Embassy Nepal web page

https://np.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/the-interview/

Website where instructions can be accessed

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.

Hi! So quick question, Will I be required to pay medical + interview for the k2 visa separately. Or is it included along with the k1 fees?

They are separate fees paid concurrently.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

Here's some tricks to use when answering and wanting to quote someone.

First, when you use the quote button, go into a LONG posts that you are quoting and if there isn't a need to have the entire post, just delete a small portion of it, but leaving enough of the original post so we can understand what you are replying to.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1krDA5e93LXA3JbzBl8Zo-pvBjpNlLJam/view?usp=sharing

Second, you can use the "@" sign in a blank reply box then begin typing the person's nick to bring up a list with their name and select their name. If it is done right, you should see a blue box around their nick like this @Greenbaum. When you use the @ sign you would use it in a blank reply and not a "+" reply.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MDRnqzVsqYuInL1iSIyuxaMOj52yDAxb/view?usp=sharing

Third is just to use the "heart" icon and select "thanks". Don't really need to say thanks in a quote. (using your example, you were making a comment and a thank you so the way you presented yourself is fine.

@Shaymus Thank you for completing your profile. I do have a question and that is, you show your status as AOS, but you are in a K-1 thread. I think you might want to make an adjustment to your profile to reflect the K-1 or, there is a thread for monthly AOS submissions. You'll find the link under forums tab.

It's fine to ask a question, even for friends. :D I just wanted to be sure we are able to help you because most of veterans rely on three bits of information, one your country, two the process you are pursuing and third your timeline. With those three items we can help you. If you have additional questions, please ask. I'll either answer the question or I can point you to where you can get the answer. Good luck on your AOS submission.

Good Evening!

We had our NOA2 letter come through today, and was dated April 1st!

We do have a few questions about what we can do here on in the current climate!

So I have read a lot and I believe we have to get letters from her bank about deposits and her job etc, and I have a few questions regarding that really. When do we start collecting this stuff as I read to start collect pretty much as soon as we get NOA2 to avoid delays!

In regards to the letter from her bank it states it needs to have the deposits going in, what is the time frame they want? The past year?

Also, In terms of the letter from the bank, should we add her checking account and her savings as her savings is where all her money is?

Theres a chance that she will be changing jobs to a salary that isn’t above the poverty level for a time being (she currently lives in NYC but will be moving back home to Puerto Rico), what should we do about this, as we want to start collecting letters from jobs and banks ect, should we collect just as if she will be staying in that job? She probably won't be leaving it until late May/ early June.

Should we add a sponsor just incase she changes jobs and doesn't earn enough?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm very surprised at the speed of our NOA1 to NOA2, just 71 days!!

Very happy to say the least! :)

Proposed - December 22nd 2019

i129F sent - January 13th 2020 (Start of the lonnnng journey!)

NOA1 recieved  - January 22nd 2020

1. In regards to the letter from her bank it states it needs to have the deposits going in, what is the time frame they want? The past year?

I recommend that you take her bank statements for the past year, both savings and checking and make copies of the page that shows the starting balance for that month and the ending balance. Do this for each month for the previous year from the interview month. This has worked for many.

2. Also, In terms of the letter from the bank, should we add her checking account and her savings as her savings is where all her money is?

See above.

3. There's a chance that she will be changing jobs to a salary that isn’t above the poverty level for a time being (she currently lives in NYC but will be moving back home to Puerto Rico), what should we do about this?

Her current job is what they are going to review for the public charge. If she is not working at the time of the interview, she will need a co-sponsor. Here is what is typically needed for most embassies to decide your case.

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT: You must submit any evidence which will show that you and members of your family who will accompany you are not likely to become public charges while in the United States. Visa petitioner (US Citizen) will have to complete form I-134. If the petitioner does not qualify as a sponsor, a Joint-Sponsor should ALSO be presented (any US Citizen living in the US or Legal Permanent Resident), who will also have to complete form I-134. Both, the Sponsor (Petitioner) as well as the Joint-Sponsor, will have to present last year's income tax return transcripts. W2 form and proof of current and sustainable income (e.g. letter of employment on letterhead including salary and start date, most recent salary receipts, bank accounts, the value of properties, etc.). You may download the I-134 affidavit of support at https://www.uscis.gov/i-134 Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript Use this link to determine the income levels needed https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p. Also, the new requirement from most embassies is to complete the DS-5540. https://eforms.state.gov/Forms/ds5540.PDF

Hello everyone. Glad to join this thread. Approved today at 110 days. Question, how long will it take from NOA2 to NVC to embassy? Estimates? @Greenbaum

Congratulations and welcome to the thread. First thing you should do is download and immerse yourself in the PDF found on the first page, first post of this thread. There within the PDF you'll find answers to most of your questions at this stage. Why use the PDF you say. Because it's a compilation of the different tips, tricks, and hacks that I have been able to gather throughout my 6+ years being here helping others just like yourself. That very question you are asking has been answered in the PDF.

Currently it's taking 30 days to NVC and 1-2 weeks for case number to be assigned. "your mileage may vary".
