It's relative. The speed in which you get your card has nothing to do with when you paid. Some I know who arrive this summer still waiting. It's just one of those things.

 

And everyone checks the box to get the SS card but sometimes it just doesn't come. Or there are issues.

 

My husband didn't come after 10 days so we went to the office seems they had his middle and first name switched so Visa, passport BC didn't match so they had to send to Homeland security to get his status and said it would take about 30 days. it took 6 weeks from his entry to get hos SS card his green card came in 45 days I paid the day he got here.

Now, this might be a weird question. But are there any fees at the time of the interview? I feel like someone said or I read that he needs to pay for the visa the day of the interview. I thought we paid that at the NVC stage 🤷‍♀️

you paid for the visa at NVC that's what the $325 was for. The DS-260 was his Immigration Visa Application (IV). So no there are no fees.
You need to relax. There's nothing else you need to do but prepare for interview and get your interview package together however you need to do that. That will keep you busy.

Yes, I heard that the green card could take up to 90 days to arrive and no one said anything about payment.

For the AP is there a time period you have to submit the items they are asking for after the interview?

You are so amazing and calm... I am smiling right now. I need to relax and enjoy this moment and have comfort in knowing that I have gotten this far. 

 

I need to redirect my focus, I am waiting for him to call me so we can discuss the interview packet, we only have one week. Thanks so much.

At first we thought about waiting just to skip ROC, but it’s still like 6 months for our anniversary, and we can’t wait to live together! Also my husband may get orders for another country, so he needs me there soon to do that paperwork. We are so excited! And I’m nervous about my interview but we trust in God all will go well!

Uh getting ahead of yourself.   You usually need the DS-260 appointment receipt based on the consulate instructions.   You really should wait to pay the immigrant fee after having a successful interview.   Here is the guide . . .

I know but I'm so excited... I just want to have things completed. But after reading the website I got super excited again, I know that it was impulsive but I 'm so anxious. I don't want my husband not to have things in place. 

 

I don't plan on doing anything else until he gets approved. I just want to move in fast forward.

Yes it's never wise to pay that fee until you have visa in hand just because. See up till probably a year ago when everybody went electronic on NVC you didn't get A# until you got Visa and picking up your passport with Via was your first time seeing it.

Never have heard of anyone paying before interview. But I am sure it is okay. I am amazed the system allowed you to pay.

 

So now you have your IOE#  add that to your case status so once  he arrives you can track it.

I so understand that far off no I wouldn't think to wait no way. ROC I am going through now not so bad. The living together is so much more important.

Yes, I took the number from the NOA2 and the USCIS website did say to wait until visa approval, and I was very impulsive but I was so excited to see that it took the data. 

 

I am still a novice... What do you mean add it to my case status. You mean on my timeline?

I am the SAME WAY. I like to keep busy. It keeps me very positive and calm when I do. BUT yes we have to remember what a blessing it is in how far we have come. Prayers your way for interview!
