The email Interview letter is your official Interview letter. I believe it has an attachment you open up has you bar code on it very official.

We didn't get an attachment with ours, no barcode. just the straight information.

He didn't file adjustment of status for a consulate interview. No Case Complete is not mailed to you. You cab tell by logging into your account on CEAC.stat.com and seeing the words Documentarily Qualified.
Yes Mexico is quite a wait. I believe they are in June DQ's.

Yes you must first have Case Complete (DQ-Documnetarily Qualified) then you are moved into the interview queue

I received the email saying that I'm on queue for the interview, yet when I go to ceac website it says that my case is at NVC and that I must follow all the instructions they send me 🤷🏽‍♀️

So from what I’ve found, they start scheduling the third week of every month. I’ve seen interviews also scheduled in the fourth week. But mostly it’s been the third week on one or two days. Scheduling. The actual interviews themselves can occur throughout the month.

these trends are just from what I’ve seen using the spreadsheet and ppls timelines who aren’t on the spreadsheet. Like for January, interviews were scheduled on 1/14 and 1/23 alone.

For Nigeria, what they did this month was that they scheduled/sent ILs on 1/14 for CR1/IR1 and then sent ILs on 1/23 for other categories such as F3,F4, F2A etc, because I think slots were still open, but they didn't send CR1/IR1 on 1/23. That's not scheduling all month on my opinion. @stech786

No. The SS# normally arrive 10 to 14 days after arrival. But sometime you have to go to SS office because they didn't send or there was an issue.
If card doesn't come after 2 weeks then go to SS office.

The green card whether you pay before you arrive or after  really doesn't matter. If you paid before your arrival at POE activates it's production. Now that can take from 3 weeks to 180 days or longer. I know many waiting that 120 days (That's how long you have to wait to start disturbing USCIS).

Most cards come in that 30 to 45 day range.

So his interview is Feb 13th and I’m sure he’ll have his passport with the 551 stamp within 7-10 days afterwards. But he’s not coming home until April. So I assume that means his social security card and greencard should be here before him. Or are you saying they don’t automatically issue it upon giving him his passport and 551? Do they not send it until he reaches the POE? Cuz he’s not coming for like 2 months after his interview....

Sorry to ask again. After logging in to the ceac website, I see "Your case is currently at NVC" Is that where I should see Documentarily Qualified? Thank you.

No you are misunderstanding. Let we write it out step by step.

1. Go to interview get approved

2. Pick up passport with visa in it.

3. Either pay $220 Immigration fee before they leave their country or pay after they arrive. You have 1 year to do this.

4. Beneficiary arrives at POE (Port of Entry) an goes through immigration and gets the 551 stamp in their passport. This is the Temp Green card.

5. Social Security card should arrive 10 to 14 days after arrival in US. If it doesn't go to nearest SS office and apply.

6. if you paid the $220 Immigration fee, green card normally arrives in 30 to 45 days.

Nothing is waiting for him when he arrives. His case for those two things is activated when he arrives at the POE. Until he arrives nothing is going to happen.

go to your inbox where they have been sending you messages. You need your case# and IIN to get into your case. Not talking about Visa status tracker.
