Hi All,

I wonder if there is anyone that has experienced this issue before. My petitioner filed for K1 and she submitted to USCIS and included an Album with our Pictures to show proof of on- going relationship. Today we received a letter in the box stating

" We are returning an item sent in support of your application /Petition , as it is a format we cannot place in your file folder for review by an officer during the adjudication process".

The Photo Album was returned ,  other other documents retained.

My question is :

1. Do we need to take off the Pictures from the Album and resend to USCIS or ?

Suggestions are welcomed.

Please i attached the letter received.

Anything you send they are probably going to want to punch holes in it and put it in a file. If you sent an actual album, they can't do that. Just print the photos on letter size paper.

You do not need to show proof of ongoing relationship for the k1 petition. You only need to send proof of meeting within the 2 years. You can front load with additional information, including some (not hundreds) of photos, but it is not required. Multiple in person visits, corroborated by boarding passes, passport stamps, credit card receipts, hotel reservations and a photo or two from each visit, are what should be focused on.

This is true, but the OP is from Nigeria, which I think is generally considered to be a high-fraud country, so I can understand wanting to front-load the petition.

Agree !!  ^^. The OP is lucky that the gorillas in the USCIS mail sorting area decided to send the album back, rather then ripping it apart to get at what they wanted, the evidence. There have been postings of people sending in lavish scrapbooks, only to have them torn apart to get to the evidence. Just send the evidence and save the nicely prepared album for the living room coffee table.

OP: BTW, your timeline is vacant, :time:It helps everyone that uses or is helped by the forums. Additionally, the data gives relevance to the VJ stats.

Good luck on your immigration journey, and Happy Holidays !!

Well, yeah; sending a whole physical album isn't a great idea .

I generally advocate for pictures other than the 2x2 passport-styles be printed on plain paper, so it's easy to put several on one page, and you can easily type captions of when, where, and who.

Photo album was serious "overkill"   ... pictures are secondary evidence, the I-129F can easily be approved without ANY pictures.    USCIS is not looking for ongoing relationship evidence, they want evidence of having met IN person.

@Hank Thanks for your response. We have stamps entry and exit, Flight tickets and boarden passes. Pictures sent is just an addition. We would resend the Pictures without an Album.
