Hi guys! Glad to see so many approvals already!

Just checking back in after a tough year. Here’s a brief update from me:

I filed jointly with my spouse November 2019.
We separated a few months after but didn’t file for a divorce until November 2020.
I got a RFE in October so I used that to inform them that we’re going through a divorce. Also because I didn’t have any additional evidence to provide them with.
My case was transferred to NBC in February and I got my interview notice a week ago - it will be on April 19th!

I started working with a lawyer after I knew that we’d be going forward with the divorce. They helped me answer the RFE and will be accompanying me to the interview.
My only concern is that I don’t have a divorce decree just yet. I have a hearing on Tuesday so hopefully it will be finalized then.

We received an RFE in December - asking for more proof of marriage (UGH - we originally sent utility statements, bank statements, vehicle registration, mortgage statements --- all showing joint names).   So we sent MORE utility statements,  several months of bank statements, vehicle registrations, multiple months of mortgage statements, and vacation photos.  All this was sent in early Feb 2021.   We just received confirmation the application was approved (FINALLY).   Greencard is on the way!

That's awesome! Congrats!

My case have been sitting since Dec 2020 and whenever I called them to get escalated.

They only told me that someone from Tier 2 will call me.. and that will be 1month later I'm sure...

My case was transferred to NBC in Nov 2020 and after a few calls, they told me they are scheduling an interview.. That was in Dec 2020, I'm still waiting for instruction on what to do next.. :(

So it's good to hear some good news.. Congrats again!

How did you even reach someone at USCIS over the phone?

LOL it was a pain.. and a long wait.. but the trick is when you called just tell the operator "technical problem" and they will put you to a live agent.. ;)

@EvieMN please keep us updated, I’m almost going through the same even tho we are not talking about divorce yet! Hopefully I don’t get a RFE and just get the case approved. What evidence you sent in the ROC?

I didn’t have much to send honestly. The way we lived wasn’t super conventional so not a lot to show. But I sent a previous lease agreement, tax returns, travels, note from employer stating we lived on their property together and some photos I believe.
My lawyer has advised me to get some affidavits for the interview and if possible, a statement from my ex husband.

@EvieMN Good luck!

Just wanted to say that a friend of mine was in a similar situation.  In fact, he did not have any joint tax returns, or any joint financial evidence at all.  Everything was separate. They did not even have a lease or anything to show life together, but owned some cars, and bank accounts and some credit cards.   He was called in for an interview and was approved with very little evidence to show.  This is in Cleveland.

Good luck.

Just curious: Does any have MSC as their service center? Or heard about it

There is very limited info on its processing times and cases even on the USCIS website.

It's not listed as a processing center for I-741 on the website.

Thanks!

MSC here, got a “interview to be scheduled” since 2 weeks ago, wonder what’s gonna happen...

Did you get a notification with "interview to be scheduled" in local office or letter that the case was transferred to NBC Lee's summit for the interview?
