Ok, received my NOA1 and payment receipt today as well. PD is Nov. 15, 2019. Texas Service Center. Was hoping for Potomac but glad it’s not Nebraska 😁 ... I’ll take it!

The wait officially begins ... 😨

Today I received my paper copy of my Form I-797C Notice of Action and my payment receipt. My priority date is 12/13/19 and my petition is being handled in Texas which is where I mailed the I-130 and I-130a. I also created my online account. Hope everyone is doing well!

Wait, why is your PD in December? Was that a typo?

Is your service center assigned randomly or based on the state you are located in? Check got cashed and waiting on receipt in the mail, no receipt yet to know my service center. We sent everything to Chicago Lockbox. Thanks!

I assume they have some sort of system, however no one knows what that "system" is, so it's pretty much random. It used to be based off your state of residence, however it hasn't been that way for a long time, now the only way to know is when you get your receipt

Our CR1 Journey:

USCIS Stage:

  • Feb 14 2019: NOA1 (NSC)
  • July 31 2019: I129f NOA1
  • Sep 19 2019: I129f NOA2 (Denied - 50 days from NOA1)
  • Sep 19 2019: I130 NOA2 (Approved - 217 days from NOA1)

NVC Stage:

  • Sep 27 2019: Sent to Department of State
  • Oct 31 2019: Case number received (34 days since sent)
  • Nov 1 2019: IV & AOS fees received & paid
  • Nov 14 2019: IV & AOS submitted
  • Dec 18 2019: All docs accepted, but one additional doc requested (5 weeks from submission)
  • Dec 18 2019: Requested doc submitted
  • Feb 19 2020: Documentarily Qualified (9 weeks from 2nd submission, 14 weeks from first submission)

Interview Stage:

  • Mar 11 2020: Interview letter received
  • Apr 1 2020: Interview date
  • Mar 17 2020: Interview cancelled due to COVID-19
  • August 3 2020: Rescheduled letter received, new appointment August 25 2020
  • August 25 2020: Visa approved at interview! (558 days from NOA1)
  • September 10 2020: Embassy received passport in mail
  • September 15 2020: Passport with visa in hand

October 11 2020: Arrived in US!

I have read that service centers are randomly assigned. The lockbox you file in is region-based.

Ohhh okay, thanks! So based on common knowledge, some service centers are a lot slower than others? What's the one to hope for? - haha

Yep; Nebraska is the slowest, Potomac is the fastest, and Texas is in the in-between

Hello!

My husband filed the I 130 online on Nov. 5th. We have been assigned an IOE number and it says that the benefit request has been received and it is under review.

However, we have not received the NOA1 yet. It will be 3 weeks tomorrow, should we worry? Thank you

I think "offline" filers report wait times between 1-4 weeks. Online filing is so new that it's hard to make assumptions on what's "normal" there. Did you check the second tab (where your uploaded files are shown)? My receipt notice was suddenly there, no hint on the "home" page.

Thank you for your response Quarknase. I do check  the second tab everyday :)  but nothing has been uploaded from the USCIS as of today. Like you said, we don't know the "normal" processing for the online I 130. Just wait and see.

Sent application to Chicago lockbox on 11/5, check cashed on 11/19. Received my receipts today, 11/25.

My receipt numbers begin with MSC which is National Benefits Center in Missouri — anyone got any insight on whether that’s good or bad with regard to processing times? I know no one wants to get Nebraska but what’s the deal with NBC? Any feedback appreciated!

I have nbc as well. I think they move fast. But after you’re finger prints etc it’s your field office that accommodates you for an interview according to the slots they have. Well that’s my understanding atleast

Understood, thank you! So freaking nervous about the entire process but right now we are mainly concerned with EAD and travel document so I can at least get my driver’s license renewed.

Hi All, This is second time around for us, we originally filed as k1 back in 2007 went through everything inc removal of conditions but not citizenship. We moved overseas for an extended period so decided to rescind the status as we were not meeting the criteria. Well here we are again, our packet was received on the 12th and we received the notification on the 15th. Somewhat disappointed to see our case is being handled in Nebraska, and that despite having been married for over 12 years, its still going to take most likely over a year. I still work overseas and currently visit on a B2 visa, so work will not be an issue, just being able to do so at home will be. Our K1 back in 2007 was done and dusted in six months!
