I'm about to travel for Christmas. Do they take you in for questioning when you travel on AP? And what documents did you bring with you? Are the i797 notices enough?

My husband  was just asked to sit while they checked his AP in the office. They only asked him how long he was in Ireland. Then they came out and handed him the stamped form and he left (he had an emergency AP so a piece of paper). It was faster than waiting on the normal line!

Oh, okay! That's promising 😃

For I-485  the only account and tracker that works for us is this https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/displayLogon.do You have to create account if you want to see service/expedite requests. This is different from my.uscis.gov account. Don't ask me why.

I'm ready to renew my EAD/AP next January myself if I haven't heard from USCIS. To be honest, I don't really mind of waiting til our 2nd anniversary cause then I don't have to deal with ROC and get 10 year GC instead. I have moved on with my life and settled in with EAD/AP just fine here

I’m about the same. I don’t mind to renew my EAD and wait for the interview until the 2nd anniversary. I have a job and I can wait now.

You can renew it within 180 days til it expires. Based on your timeline, you still enough time to do it around june 2020. And yes, you'll likely get 10 years GC since you've been married since 2016. I'm curious, what took you so long to file AOS?

Oh isn’t it 90 days?!

Hmm thanks. I remember 180 as well, but I read last week somewhere that it's already changed to 90 days... I've got mine on August 12, so I guess I'll file a renewal in February. I'm expecting our interview between February and April, but who knows how long it's gonna take.

Based on USCIS guideline:

"Generally, you should not file for a renewal EAD more than 180 days before your original EAD expires."

So you can  renew your EAD up to 180 days before it expires.

Great! I won't risk so I'll file in February. Who knows when our interview will happen if after the interview how long we need to wait for the approval...

Thanks!

YAY!!! So I guess they were right above!?! I'm so happy for you! This is EAD/AP,  yes? I was a bit worried for you given that they changed the dates again. You should have had this MONTHS ago...congrats!!

Yeah I guess so!! I'm not sure if it's the combo card, my AP was approved back in July but they opened another AP case for me without my knowledge a few weeks ago that's still pending and the Tier 1 that I spoke to had absolutely no clue why or what that means for the approved AP. So yeah it's just a waiting game now to see what the card says. 🙄

Also I see that you're done with the GC process for now! Congrats!!! Time to celebrate! 👏😁

Thank you! Just the EAD unfortunately.

At what point do you go straight to a 10 year green card?

My EAD / AP expires February 2020

Should I be sending in the two renewal forms now to ensure continuous work permit and advance parole?
