My fiancé had his interview on dec 4th. Turns out we got the wrong police record sheet of paper. We need the full fingerprints and background check. So he needs to wait to get that from Ottawa Canada and have them send it to him. Then he has to send his passport and the background to Montreal. Anybody else run into this? If so how long did it take to both receive the background check. And for the embassy to send back your visa?

Not many Canadian's left here. Try the Canadian subforum where others can help.

Hello,

We had our NOA1 approved on November 15th. I've read the doc on the first page of the forum, but I still can't really make sense of it. Should we have heard something by now? What honestly is the next step? It's the London embassy this will go through.

I am sorry if this post annoys anyone, I just am genuinely reaching out because I want to make sure we are meant to wait this long.

Good luck to all of you as well!

Any insight is appreciated.

Nancy

It took roughly 3 months for me to receive my NOA2.  You can check out a sample of timelines for people in the London forum to see what their average turnaround time is. But you may not hear anything for another few weeks. Everyone’s case is different but I definitely don’t think you have cause for concern.

I can’t see your timeline (I’m on my mobile device) but I recommend following the October filers or November filers forum (depending on when you filed). To see what others are doing while they wait for their NOA2.

Also, you can check out the London embassy site to see what is next and make sure you have all the information you’ll need to complete the D160 form.

Ps...no need to apologize. That’s what this forum is for. Ask as many questions as you want. Until you get the answers you need. 🙂

Here is what is needed for the process in the UK.

P3 instructions for the UK

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1M92AwztXRnkFw6xwUF0ZlntJ6D4-eK2E/view?usp=sharing

Embassy Page

London Portal here on VJ

http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=United Kingdom&cty=London

London sub-forum on VJ

There are experts over in the sub-forum for your country located here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/  This is where others from your country who are processing or those who have completed their interview and they can guide you on their experience. A TON of information and help there.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

NOTE: The PDF file has been updated with what to do at this stage. The new version is dated 12/5. If you have questions about any of the information let us know and we can either help or send you where you can get help.

Hello everyone, good day, please I have a question and will really appreciate if am answered.

1). When is the appropriate time to go for your medical examination before your appointment date?

2). If you did your police report in August 26th, and your interview is in January, should you do another one? Cause your police report will be 5 months old in January.

The closer the medical and documents are to the interview date the better the success of the interview. Just my experience.

I believe the police report is good for 1 year.  Although, I recommend you confirm with the Ghanian embassy on the validity period.  You should schedule your medical once you have your interview date.

Hello Everyone,
Good day.
Please how do one approach this question when asked during your interview.
* Why do you want to marry in the US and not your own country * ? Your ideas will be very appreciated. Thanks

Well, it depends. What’s the truth? Why do you want to get married in the US?

"Well, I Was Sleeping, Y'Know, And My Mother, Who Passed When I Was Very Young, Y'Know, She Appeared In A Dream, Y'Know, And She Told Me, Y'Know, Very Gently To Just Let It Be, And So The Next Morning I Went Right Over To The Piano, Y'Know, And I Began To, Y'Know, Write The Song, Y'Know"

We have always wanted to get married in a different location, so my fiancé decided we get married where he live so that all his family and mine can also attend the wedding.

That sounds good to me. I’d just go with that, whatever feels right at the time and is truthful because they’re very good at sensing deceit in people’s responses. If you are being honest with them then everything should work out so long as you have nothing to hide and all of your paperwork is in order. Good luck

My fiancee's answer to that was: We want to start living together after the wedding.  If we get married in the foreign country, the spouse visa will take another 8-12 months while we live separately.  Fiancee visa allows us to continue to live together in the USA immediately after the wedding.
