Threes. Always in threes.

Difficult conversation  number 1. My Mum, my sister tells me, in in palliative care now. I'm sorry, but she has been  in a vegetative state for years and years.  The only thing that's changed is that she is now on O2, and in quite a steep decline. My sister sees to think that means she will rally, because they would not do that if they didn't think she would 'get better', and did not want to understand that this is more than unlikely.  There followed a conversation about palliative care and  comfort measures which really upset her. Mum has a DNR in place thank goodness.

Number 2 with the same sister. She doesn't seem to understand that one of our youngest sisters has just finished up a round of chemo  will quite likely do well. She's convinced younger sister is about to keel over. Imminently.  She's got these two the wrong way round.

Number 3 has yet to happen, with my AK flatmate. Her lease is up, the landlord has declined to renew it, and she wants to know if I have any ideas. I do, indeed, but she isn't going to want to hear what I have to say.  She needs to go into care and I will have to tell her that.

I sure hope things don't come  in fours. I am fed up to the eye teeth with being the adult.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Took kids to store via bicycle.

On the way there, the Troll used his "bicycle" without pedals.  Whining, refused to listen as always, constantly in the middle of the road. He says he doesn't want to do it anymore.

I tied his bike to the trailer and put him in the trailer with the Tank on the way back. Then, he's crying because he wants to bike.  🤬

It hasn't been a good couple of weeks for him, nor couple of days. We've also instituted the "you have to eat what is offered at dinner or you get nothing" policy now that he is old enough to understand it. It might just be going worse than the oldest one's time with that. Then again, there is no barrage of snot with him. He's an extremely poor eater, so it is time. The Tank eats all the healthy things, so I'm hoping we won't run into the same issue again.

I am truly sorry for what you are going through. It is a horribly difficult situation.....

I’m not a “words of wisdom” kinda gal.....but I lost my mom 10 years ago (it was unexpected) So I am always here......if you need to cry or rant or scream.....I will always be available.

Also, T-B, I think you need a new vet.  They should have helped set you up with supplies and taught you how to properly inject.

Both offices I've worked at teach people how to inject and make sure they have the right equipment, at least the first time.  Diabetic management is hard and can be dangerous.

Which is ironic because doctors are well aware of life expectancies and end of life issues when it comes to their own healthcare. I read a long piece a few years back on how individual doctors approach cancer when they are stricken by it. Generally, they discard the choices that most people follow for maximizing the length of life and instead choose alternatives that will maximize the quality of their remaining life.
