How soon can you work after filing AOS?

Just curious about how long Ill have to wait before I can start working in the US, after marrying on K1? 

Do I have to wait for the full 6 or so months after marrying and applying for AOS, or does work approval kick in before then

Not until you are work authorized

I have seen some people who have been waiting for 6 months.........you will file the I-765 along with your I-485 and I-131 after marriage.....then wait....and wait...for approval......then you can legally work.......that is a downside of a K-1.

When you file for AOS you need to also file for your EAD and AP. OTherwise, you will have to wait until you have your green card to work or travel and return back to the US

If you marry and file the day after arrival, 4 to 6 months on average, the longer you wait the longer it will be.

You need you marriage certificate to file.  Apply for the EAD, AP and AOS then wait 4 to 6 months.

Don't I need to first apply for a SSN before I marry, and that takes 2 weeks post arrival to get on the system (I94)

You don't need a SSN to apply for AOS, Advance Parole, or an EAD...........and no, it does not take 2 weeks for the I-94 to be in the system.

To get a SSN well I have seen different interpretations, but certainly something I did a few days after arrival

Yes, you can get married without a SSN. Bring your foreign passport.

Yes you can marry without.   But it will make your life easier if you get it before you marry.
