Do I need to give them the terms of service of the social media app we met on? It's an app for talking about common interests, in our case, a band we both like.

It depends if it is a known or "common" app. If unsure, it doesn't hurt to send the TOS in with the I129f petition. Some have received RFE's for unknown or unfamiliar apps/dating sites.

Sounds like Discord. On 129F just say you've met online. It is not dating service.

On my I-29F, all I wrote was that I met my partner online and the dates we met in person. I didn’t give any details as to where online my partner and I met. I received no RFE and was approved.

My husband and I met on a non dating website and were not asked any questions about it.  Just saying we net online was enough.

That said, as with many answers, the country in question can change their interest in the site.  Essentially any place where brokering brides is popular (the Phillipines, Russia and Eastern Europe) you may see much more scrutiny about the online meeting.

The issue with just saying you met online is the IO can - at their discretion - require evidence that they are not an IMB. Just checking No on the I-129F to the IMB question is not sufficient for some officers/circumstances, and supporting evidence is needed.

IMO, send the TOS to avoid any potential issue. It may not be necessary (as you can see some others were approved without it), but it may avoid an RFE (others did get an RFE for this).

I would be more inclined to send a few pages of TOS of the website/app that may or may not be necessary than 50 pages of photos and 100 pages of text messages that people often seem intent on sending that are definitely not required.

For the i129F I documented the time and place of our first physical meeting (and all other meetings).

For the interview, she brought the terms and conditions of the websie proving that it wasn’t a ImB.    She disclosed that we met online and the CO didn’t asked for the terms and conditions.
