What does it mean administrative processing after the interview? It has me stressed out as we're planning our ceremony and the date is coming up soon.  The CO didnt say that we're approved but did tell my fiance that she will need to enter the USA before September, insinuating approval. But the CO wasnt cordial at all so I'm worried.

Did the CO keep her passport?  That is a good sign.  It is my understanding that all visas go through “administrative processing” before “issued.”

Yes the CO kept the passport. Hopefully we're approved early next week.  Thank you for the encouragement.

Everyone goes through the AP process before it the visa is issued.  Based on the discussions I had with the case officer he informed me of the steps to complete the processing of your visa:

the first AP is the immigration unit doing the paperwork for approving the visa

the first ready is a notice that they are finished and the paperwork is being sent for visa issuance

the second AP is the visa issuance people doing their own paperwork

the second ready is that the visa has been issued and is currently being processed for delivery

Then "issue" is posted and the visa has left the BIG house to YOUR house.

Once you get that second ready, it should be sent out within a few days, although we received our visa before any of the various websites that allow you to look up the status said that it had been sent out.

Ok so we are doing k1/k2 so I need to do two separate ds-160’s? And also does the child need to attend the interview also?

Each person applying for a visa needs a separate DS-160.  That includes the child.  It is my understanding that the child needs to attend the interview.  However, you may want to check the embassy requirements.

@Greenbaum @DanielPlainview Can either of you guys (or anyone else) give me some advice on Miami POE for my fiancé? He is flying into Miami and his flight arrives at 11:30 AM and his next flight leaves for Chicago at 4:58 PM. Will this be a safe enough layover for immigration?

5 hours should be enough time.

by the time he gets off the plane and gets to immigration poe, it would only like, noon, or just after noon. boarding to chicago wouldnt start until after 4pm. so, 3-4 hours to get though immigration should be enough.

If all of his paperwork is right he will be fine.

Me personally I am not going to give my fiancée a layover in the US. First landing in the US will be the last. Just my personal preference. Straight to Houston from Asia.
