package was sent from California to London on 2nd April and its now 24th and i haven't heard anything yet, is that normal? how long should it take for the embassy to receive and contact you?

Having my vaccines done at my GP tomorrow in preparation for the medical- all 7 of them on my birthday :(

I was only just contacted over the weekend! It can take a while. Have you checked your status on CEAC? It will probably say "READY" by now.

If you've done your medical already, and you've received all the supporting financial evidence from your US fiance(e) already. There's no reason not to schedule! The letter they send you isn't used for anything anyway, it just tells you to do things that we here have known for months haha.

i haven't done the medical as i wasn't sure how to schedule it without the letter with instructions. i'm just getting my vaccines done at my GP to save money and time at the medical. Are the any documents i can go ahead and get ready now?

You can book your medical just fine if you have anything that says your visa type and your embassy case number (starts with LND). We just printed off a PDF Letter that the NVC sent us when we were told about our packet being sent to London.

However, I would advise against scheduling your interview before your medical. Get that done first, then schedule your interview.

I'm going to list a couple of tips. Use them to the betterment of your process.

1. Schedule the medical first and give yourself at least two weeks prior to your interview date to avoid problems.

2. There is a sub-forum that have a couple of threads that have answered your questions. It's better to ask someone from your country that you will interview in then someone from another country. This thread was designed to face the issues of the NOA2 - NVC hence the title and the reasoning for me to suggest you check in with your sub-forum. PPL here are not going to know the process for England if they are from Nigeria for instance. That questions should be posed in the SF.

3. The vaccinations for some embassies are included in the medical fee. Whether you get them inside or outside of the medical will not affect the "total" price you will pay for the medical. Again, here is another question for your SF.

There are experts over in the sub-forum for your country located here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/  This is where others from your country who are processing or those who have completed their interview and they can guide you on their experience. A TON of information and help there.

The interview lasted 3 minutes and it was like a coffee talk with a friend. 😂

“Congrats on getting married!! When did you meet Jon? What (Air Force) base was he stationed when you two met? I wish you all the luck and safe travels to your home!! You can come pick up your visa tomorrow”

Good luck to everyone! 😊

Congratulations!

I had my interview yesterday!!! And my visa was approved! I was so nervous waiting in a line, then the Consular asked me only 3 questions, so I couldn't realise that this part of the journey is over. I'm so happy right now!

Congratulations!

Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get the passport back with the visa printed? My fiancé was told 2 weeks at the interview but I’m wondering if it may be faster then the official timing they say? Is the CEAC case status found to change to any additional steps?

No one can tell you with any certainty when the Visa will be issued. We have seen hours to years. Pick one! Here is how you can follow your progress.

When the Embassy is ready to issue a visa, it will change to "Nonimmigrant Visa Application"; at that time, you will know that you are a few days away from getting the visa. It will go from "Immigrant Visa Application" to "Nonimmigrant Visa Application" status and then your visa changes to "Ready" ==> "Administrative Processing" ==>> "Issued" status as well. These steps sometimes transpire over a day or even a few days. Some smaller Embassy's it happens within hours.

Sometimes, it might skip "Administrative Processing" and go from "Ready" to "Issued".
