Once the case says at NVC should we try to get ahead of ourselves in regards of filling out paperwork? Or should we just wait until the embassy sends her the packet?

The “a” number is the beneficiary’s “alien” number. You’ll need that for AOS. The noa2 number is the same as the noa1 reciept number. That number doesn’t change at USCIS. Then of course NVC assigns a case number once it gets to them.

This might be a silly question or previously answered so i apologize in advance. The Nvc gives 2 numbers.  I know we use 1 to search the status of our case at NVC on the CEAC website. But what is the other number for?

One is the Case number. That's the one important for K1 Visas. The 2nd number is the invoice number. It isn't used for K1 visas...but its important for other types of visas.

I think I misunderstood the first post that says "Update Your Email" at the AskNVC site.  I didn't ask a specific question and instead just listed our emails out in the field to ask a question because I thought I was just "updating" them.  Anyway, that was 2 weeks ago and I never heard anything from them.  Do you think I should go back in and ask a specific question, like "Have you received my case from USCIS?"  Or should I just continue to call?  Was what I did a way of "updating" our emails?  Or will they just ignore that altogether since it wasn't a question?

But what is the phone number for NVC that everyone is calling to get their case number? 

 

I looked on their website but I'm not sure which one to use 🤦🏼‍♀️

I know what the receipt number is. It starts with WAC. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I want to know WHERE IS THE A NUMBER FOUND?

Is it the number that I described in my original question?  The number above the beneficiary's name on the NOA2?

And it seems I have one too, which is why I'm not certain that THAT is the alien registration number.

Sorry, misunderstood your question. I was reading it on my phone while driving... (I know... I shouldn't do that lol). On NOA2, the A number appears above the Beneficiarys name.
