Hello all,

If you are awaiting your i485 interview notice start preparing like the interview is tomorrow. My application was received on Jan 22, 2018.  I got my EAD on August 2nd and every time I checked the status online it says my case is ready to be scheduled even as at this morning it was still saying ready to schedule. I got a call from our lawyer's office on Friday 10/26/2018 at 5 pm that our notice for the interview came in that Friday and our interview is the following Monday! 10/29/2018. Our interview was today at 1:15 pm, I just checked the status online now after we got home at 8:18 pm and it says my card is being produced.

Good luck to everyone awaiting interview. Please be prepared don't wait for the notice to start preparing. Our interview was at the Baltimore field office.

Your attorney stinks.  I would be willing to bet the letter arrived days or weeks earlier and they failed to notify you in a timely manner.  This is why most VJ'ers forgo attorneys and do it ourselves.  Congratulations!!

I agree 100%. That was my immediate thought when I read the post. Congratulations on the approval.

Just out of curiosity, ask for the envelope it came in so you can check the post date on the letter. I've got a hundo that says the attorney " misplaced" the envelope, and will not be able to produce it.

That's more than likely what happened or the intern/paralegal got it and never gave it to the attorney until that day they notified you. But glad at least you finally got an interview so go break a leg.

I would ask to see the letter and see what date the notice was mailed. In most cases, the interview is scheduled about a month out.

Agreed...interviews are not scheduled a couple/few days out. They almost certainly held onto it for some time before (luckily) noticing.

You can check a case's history on the new tracker site to see when the interview notice was actually sent out: https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

Yet another reason to handle the immigration process yourself and not put it in the hands of someone else.

Congrats, don't hire this lawyer (or any lawyer for that matter) for the next step in your immigration journey. Maybe next time they won't even notify you at all and you miss the potential insterview.
