The agent who handled our package requested us to submit 2 copies of letter of intent, one from my fiancé and one from me. I even had mine mailed all the way to the US from the Philippines. I think this is still a RapidVisa error. You may wanna have your own checklist of the requirements moving forward than trusting it all to RV. It appears their services depend on the agent assigned.

You know i put date of 26/07/2017 instead of 2018 on intent to marry letter.    I send after another one with new date. Lets see

It is fine that you did this way, but I can tell for sure you do not need to sent original life signed copy. My fiancee typed it out, printed it, signed it, scanned it and sent me an image which I printed here and included into package. I know others have done the same. I believe the only True signature they expect is petitioner's signature at the end of 129F form, anything else can be copies. They do typically want 2 letters of intents though, one from each of you, separately signed. SOME but not all people got away with sending just one signed by both. I don't know if it depends on the wording or what, seems like sending 2 is safest bet.

With regards to Kojo's RFE I see these main possibilities:

  • Kojo forgot to include into their package to RapidVisa, but they seem convinced this was not the case, so I think this is unlikely.
  • RapidVisa forgot to include it into their package to USCIS Lockbox
  • USCIS Lockbox misplaced it when they opened it. Somewhat unlikely in my opinion
  • USCIS adjudicating officer didn't like wording on it, or didn't notice the form, or it was too poor quality of a scan

Chances are we will never know for sure what happened, as it is unlikely RapidVisa will confirm or deny if they included letter of intent into package. Ultimately, very easy fix, and hopefully only small delay. Good as  they are actively looking at the case!

there were 2...one from me...one from him...not just one...btw...only one from him was asked in RFE...so i am assumming they got mine...and his gotten misplaced some how or looked over...

How did you find out what RFE was for so quickly? Also you should update your timeline with the RFE date. I do not think this will be 3 months delay btw. They do not sent RFEs more than once, it means basically this is the only thing they need to approve you.

i was happily informed by @manofdahour that i can call uscis and ask to speak to a tier 2 rep...and ask them to read my rfe to me...it wasnt easy...1st time i called it wasn't yet in system...next 2 times got turned away...reps said they couldnt read because it was a legal letter and i had to wait for mail...3rd time (i called end of day) and it was in system and it was read to me...i never ever take no for an answer when taking to reps/agents of any company...never...i always would call back after a no to get another agent/rep opinion about 2 to 3 times and 8 times out of 10 i always get a different answer lol...thats just me...but iv never on here heard about call uscis for a tier 2 rep concerning rfe...but glad i now know...maybe this could help others out...

I suspect that USCIS wouldn't catch that error. I believe you will be ok. Sending an update letter is OK too.

How do I sign up for informed delivery?

There is a service provided by the USPS (US Postal Service) whereby each morning USPS will scan your incoming mail (just the address side of the envelope) and email you an update. It's very convenient these days to have advance notice that an important piece of mail is being delivered.

The service is available to most communities but some are still being rolling out so not all areas are available. Check the website with your zip code to verify your location is available for the service. A person in the USA can sign up for this free service here: https://informeddelivery.usps.com/box/pages/intro/start.action

You can also use the USPS Mobile app available in the Google play store.

Your learning fast about RV. Unfortunately many use their services and they are the ones that pop up the most with errors expressed here on VJ. I don't know if you knew this or not but the letter of intent could have been emailed and printed and sent into USCIS. They do not require a "wet" signature.

I like the checklist idea. Good way to double check your work and the work of others.
