Anyone else waiting for green card after interview?

Hi. I've been reading posts on another website forum and saw that one of the users found their interviewing officer on social media. I googled the officer that interviewed me and found him too as well.

1.Should I message him and ask him about my case? Will it hurt my case if I make an unofficial contact like that?

2. Is it better to contact the congressman instead? What do they do and does my spouse have to get involved?

My interview was 3 weeks ago and the officer said I'll get my approval letter and card in 30 days. The interview was successful and he gave me a paper with my information that had USCIS logo (name, D.O.B, A-number, etc), and he ticked off the phrase that say, "your application has been recommended for approval and a final decision will be made once your case is complete". He wrote CR6 in red ink on it and at the back he wrote, " File i751 90 days before second anniversary".

Wait for 30 days, as you were told. If you don't have your card by then, you can inquire through the normal channels. Don't bug this specific officer; your case has probably been forwarded to others to do their part in the process anyway.

Please don't because that is just so unprofessional. If you were in their shoes, would you want people randomly contacting you on your personal social media about work? I bet you wouldn't and it would just piss you off! Now, would you want a pissed off immigration officer on your case? I double bet you would not either.

@yutoo It's inappropriate for you to contact him. Go through the proper means, like calling USCIS or e-mail them using their website.

Okay, do not message the officer on social media. He's a federal agent and is allowed privacy and to keep his personal and professional lives separate. In fact, it's even more important for government officials to do that. It will absolutely not help you at all.

If the officer gave you that slip, you don't have much to worry about, in my opinion. He (and his office) may be held up by a string of tough or bad cases that need to be dealt with and it hasn't been quite 30 days yet. Once that passes, then I suggest contacting your senator and/or the ombudsman.

Honestly as a federal employee if you messaged me for something about your case then my privacy would be violated and it would not be good for you.

Is this even a real question? Of course you shouldn't do that. I'm surprised that you even entertained the thought.

If you just Google "senator + <your zipcode>" and "ombudsman USCIS", you'll find the contact forms. There's also a search bar on this site...

Do not even try to contact this officer in his private social media. You are looking for trouble. You will look more desperate.
