Questions for you who are waiting for manual verification of SSN.  On the AOS application did you check that you have not been assigned a SSN and did you check that you want one assigned?

I checked that I do not have an SSN and that I do not want them to issue me one :) I was confused by that question too but in the end I think they were solely referring to whether or not you want them to issue you one in conjunction with this application.

Even though I'm not the one who moved, I feel like I've been doing the same. I've always lived alone, so it was an adjustment to have someone moving in with me and sharing space. I got used to having the closet to myself :jest: lol

I can relate to this. George has been here 10 weeks and I've only managed to clear ONE drawer for him. He made some closet space for himself though! :)

YESSS. I tried to be proactive the last time Paul visited, before moving here, because we already knew what route we were taking. I managed to clean out two drawers only so he could leave some stuff behind that time. I'm pretty proud of (and surprised with) myself, though - I've officially split all of the closet space in half with him entirely now. It was not without some major effort, though, that's for sure. I was long overdue a good closet purge, though; lots to get rid of. But as Paul says... that just means I'll buy more clothes :jest:

Håll ut, y'all.

What Liz said. If you've already applied for an SSN, you don't need them to assign you one with your AOS app, even if your SSN application is pending. :)

Hi, everyone. I already got my biometric appointment letter. But never got any NOA1. I know today that mail service is very wrong in my building. I am sure that USCIS had sent me three NOA1. But I don’t know where they are now.

is anything important in NOA1?

I am calling USCIS to see if they can resend me.

i am so sad, because of the mail service here so bad, I never got my marriage certificate or SS card. Now I am missing all the mails and I even don’t know what I am missing..

We got our hard copy of NOA-1 today for AOSEAD & AP. It doesnt really say anything you will need for biometrics. Can someone explain what does that SAVE CaseCheck website do for us? We applied for a SS# before the SAVE system went completely electronically for verification (June 2nd). Hope we hear something soon for the biometrics and more. Good luck to everyone here and let the wait begin lol

Gaah. Okay well it's nice to not be alone in this! Let me know if you have any updates. I think I will call the SSA next week and try to ask again if my manual verification was sent via paper or electronically. I think they must be able to see at least that.

I got my SSN in the mail today! Keep an eye on that postbox!

Sorry, but when did you apply for it? We applied on 5/24/2018 and nothing. The so called 4 weeks aren't over yet, but checking the SAVE Case Check website didn't say anything was even in the system. Like no inquires from any agency. Should I go back to the SSA office and see what going on or wait for 4 weeks to be over first?

I went and immediately when they saw the letter they had given me when I applied, they told me to wait four full weeks before I came back again :P

Have you checked the SAVE database both by I-94 number, A-number, and passport number?

I applied on 5/29. I called them last Friday and the guy said to wait the full 4 weeks but then I got a letter on saturday saying I’d get my card within 2 weeks and then it arrived today!

If you cannot find it on the system at all, I would definitely return to them or call your local office (the main number just tells you to call your local one) and say you’ve checked for it on SAVE but can’t find it. They can tell you if a number has been assigned but they can’t tell you it over the phone.

I used the SAVE system and found it under my passport number and I-94 number but couldn’t find it using my alien number.

Also, my status still says Case Returned to agency, so I think that’s the end point :/

Thanks, when I tried the first time...nothing showed up. I don't know how nothing showed up. I was stubborn enough and did it again and with the  I-94 got lucky and it says the same sent to Maryland SSA.

Does this mean it will be printed out soon?

Thank you! I will call them today and ask if they have assigned me a number.

I don't have much hope at this point, but I really wanted to get it before June 19th. I was invited to an introduction that day for the non-profit I would like to volunteer for, in order to do background checks and learn about the role... the next occasion would be a month later :(
