Hi all sorry I haven’t posted in awhile but I have a question I hope one or you can answer, just before I was going to move to the U.S I had to fly home to Australia from the U.K for a family matter, I am a dual citizen of Britain and Australia. I got my K1 visa approved and stamped in my British passport but unfortunately it’s about to expire this month (20th October) I am in Australia still now and my fiancé has joined me from Boston and is here until 17th December. My question is, do you think it is possible to renew my K1 visa? If someone could let me know I would really appreciate it as I would like to go back with my fiancé in December or late January. Thanks guys - Grant.

They may help with that if there is a reason. But I think you should contact the embassy you got the visa from.

For some reason the embassy won’t discuss visa related enquires, that’s what the operator said anyway. Do you think i should contact USCIS?

Not even through email?

USCIS can't help with anything, as it is not about a petition filed with them. This is all about the embassy.

if they won't help I'd say you will need to use the visa or reapply again. I would try mailing them but you have so little time left to decide.

We were approved for conditional Green card before we received EAD or AP.  which took 4 months for us, but each location is different, we were lucky to live in a state that processes quickly.  Looking at VJ it looks like EAD is taking about 145 days currently.    AOS for nation is averaging 310 Days and for Florida it depends on your local office and the last Hurricane may slow down processes fro some locations.  https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/aosstats.php

I miss this group so much!

My EAD expediate has been approved which is good news. All being well, I should start work next week. I know I’ll be waiting for a AOS interview for another year and a half.

If you are still in your home country, you cannot extend the K1 but it may be re-issued. Normally this is only done for very good reasons such as a child in school who wants to finish off the school year. I don't think that you want to vacation with your fiancée is reason enough for the Embassy to grant your request, but you can always ask.

My husband filed for all AOS docs on March 19th, and he received his EAD/AP combo card the first week of September.  Our field office is currently interviewing GC applicants from summer 2017, so we likely have 8-12 months left before anything moves on that.
