Ok just a heads up.for your Biometrics, please bring a copy of your Marriage Certificate with you, on the letter it just says the appointment notice and yoir passport. hen we got there they asked for the marriage certificate, good thing we were only 30 minutes from the place. We ran home made a copy and went back. Hopefully this helps someone before they go.

Yay glad you will be in this AOS process with me Janet! I looked at process times for my office and wept. Sigh Denver seems so backed up. I will be lucky to get AOS in a year. lol

Today, we tried walk in for biometrics, and it just took 15 minutes:) Luckily I brought my marriage certificate in case they asked for secondary id because in my passport, i have my maiden name. If you changed your last name, you must bring a secondary id.

We were able to knock out bio today as well in Raleigh, ahead of our scheduled appointment in January.  We also needed to show the marriage certificate since she's using her married name on all forms.  So now the real wait begins!

When you do this bio ahead of time, do you schedule an infopass appointment or just walk in and ask if they can do it early?

Live, love, laugh.. and try not to think too much about USCIS

Today we got the return receipt that we put on the AOS application when we mailed it to the Chicago Lockbox. It only came 2 weeks after we got the NOA forms, so like, the government was faster than the post office. Or... they hung on to the card for two weeks before mailing it back to us. :P

Also, along with the return receipt we got our appointment for the biometrics. Which is in a week. So, I get to take a day off work to drive 2 and a half hours each way for what is going to be a 30 minute appointment, tops, because my wife can't get her driver's license until she gets her EAD or green card (whichever comes first). Fun, fun. But... the process is moving forward, so I suppose we shouldn't complain.
