Comments : I POE’d in JFK at 2:00 am. The automatic machine said it couldnt process my passport so I got sent to the scrutinity line, the officer was not particulary mean but he wasnt nice either.. I gave him my passport and envelope and he asked me for an extra page.. I told him I wasnt given that page amd he said “dont worry, people loose this page all the time” I didnt wanna fight him so I said nothing.. then he said oh you are a K1 you dont get that extra page I was talking about.. I made a joke about how he probably made it up to see if I got nervous, he said nothing about that😆 just asked me when are planning to get married. After that he walked me to the “little room” as my family calls it.. where someone else looked over my file.. after about 15 mins she asked me if the petitioners name on the application was my fiance, I said yes and that was it.. got entry stamp and off I went 😎

Comments : AOS interview was at 9:45. We arrived at 9:25, passed through security and went to the check in window where I got finger printed and photo taken.
At around 10:35 I got called in. The officer asked what evidence did we bring to the interview, so I told him and passed him the papers (we brought photos, joint bank statements, joint cellphone bill, receipt from ski trip, and health insurance bills) He went through all the photos and papers and then said ok, now we are going to go through your application. I interrupted him to tell him we were moving in a couple of days and he took my new address and updated it in the system. Then he literally asked me every single item in form I-485 and that was it. For some reason he didn't have any of the paperwork I sent regarding my J1 so I gave him my copies. He said he was going to recommend me for approval, will get GC in 2 weeks and that he recommends that every month we save some kind of proof for whenever we do ROC in 2 years. He wasn't rude, but did not laugh at any of the jokes me or my husband made.

Consulate Review: Dominican Republic
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 28, 2017
Embassy Review : My interview was scheduled for 9:00 am and My fiancee and I got there around 8:40. We parked in a parking lot near by for 250 pesos. We noticed a conglomeration of people in a street nearby the embassy (Im not sure what was the deal with that)... We ignored all the buscones and proceed to walk to the consulate building. I asked the guachi where is the line for K1s and he pointed at the shortest line.. I stupidly forgot the appointment page so we had to go back to the buscones area and pay 300 pesos for them to print one page (luckily I have all my info on the cloud so it was easy to login into my account and hit print).. We got in, passed security and were assigned a number. We were called into a first window where we handed in the documents we brought (police certificate, birth certificate BRING A COPY OF THIS ONE, etc) I was handed back the affidavit form and documents and told that that is not required for K1s... He also asked me if I had a 2x2 photo because the one on the system wouldnt load.. So I would say be prepared for anything, bring copies of everything just in case... After a LONG wait (there were only 2 more couples in the building by this time) we were called into another window... the interview was in english since my fiance doesnt speak spanish.. they asked him how me met, and they asked me a couple of questions about the student visa I previously had.... after that he said you have been approved and we left the building!! it was 1:15 when we got out.
I did notice that people that were alone without the petitioner had longer interviews and were asked LOTS of questions.. but still got approved
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
