She already asked if she could visit us and her Mum said if Grandma takes you. My Mum is thinking of coming down for the wedding so I think if she does she will bring her too. :)

I'm sure she will be tickled! :jest: Do you guys have a tentative wedding date?

Good morning from Germany, to the Anonymous Whiners! :)

@CubaAndChill THANK YOU! :)

For the ticket thing...
I can understand being tempted, so am I.
I don't know if I'd get a ticket though. The USCIS tells to not cancel anything like job or apartment before the visa is issued. And that for reasons. Not wanting to be the party pooper either, but... I don't know if it's not better to wait, since no one can know what will happen. Hmmmm... good question.

I keep thinking about when to quit my apartment, since I want to move asap after visa in passport. But on the other hand I will only cancel job and apartment once I have my passport back, but I have 3 months cancelling limit, if I'm not wrong.
Very tempting too.

Ok, so, I need to get some thoughts on something... Purchasing the one way airline ticket now since the deals are better in advance. We have been talking about this for a few weeks now (probably more) and in the last few weeks, the ticket has already gone up by $50+. We talked about it some more today and he agreed that it's a good idea to get it now. I asked him to see what he can find in his own search to see if it's more or less for him to get it over there with the difference in currency etc. and the fact that their money is only 25% of what the dollar is. He found a ticket on Oct 19th for $280 from Bucharest, Romania to LAX. The cheapest I am seeing is $433. He is going to purchase the ticket tonight (his tomorrow) because we are fairly certain that he should be approved by then. Thoughts?

And note... the $433 is an amazing price as the next tickets in line are $700+. So, in my opinion the $280 is just crazy!

Hahahaaa.... I couldn't resist looking myself.

Holy donkeycrap!!!

One way from Frankfurt/Germany to Norfolk, VA on September 30th = 1400€ the cheapest. From Munich 1900 €!!!

I'll consider driving to RO and fly out from there lol

AP is Administrative Processing and can happen after the interview. The reason can be an array of things, but most of the time I've read that people have been put into AP for background checks, or just for reviewing the case before they issue the visa and it can take 1 week, 1 month, or more than a year. When dealing with the government, you can really never expect anything. I'm taking a expect the worse and pray for the best type of approach even though our case should be one of the easy ones. You just never know what can happen.

I just read a post from someone who has a fiance in Cuba. They've been engaged for 5 years, have a mountain of evidence and got denied at the interview because they didn't show a "bonafide relationship." I know she's devastated as anyone would be, but just goes to show you. Never make permanent plans with everything so up in the air and in the hands of a stranger that if they have a bad day or have a hair up their @(*3 they can deny you without any recourse or reason really.

But that's just my opinion, I don't mean to be a debbie downer and of course it's ultimately up to you and your fiance.

Your scaring me with that story @CubaAndChill 😬

Good evening Anonymous Whiners!

I have all the scans done and I've included received dates with 04/03. So up to WAC1790274549. I'll start the weekly scans on 5/1 and will do it every Monday until they start touching March cases. Once they start touching march cases consistently then I'll post daily.

Thanks everyone for your patience and we're almost there!!!

Great job! Any chance you could let us know how many cases total there are for March?

I'm just under the impression there's less cases than in previous months...

I'm sorry. If it's worth anything she scared me with that story too. My fiance and I will only have been together a year when interview comes around and even though I have a good amount of evidence I'm still anxious. But it all depends on the consulate and the person reviewing your case. I read another Cuba beneficiary story that was similar to mine; been together 6 months, only 2 visits before putting in K1 and they got approved. So it's really like the luck of the draw with this even though it's our lives and futures at stake.

Nope we aren't bothering at all. We are going to get the marriage license and then go from there. We want to do it asap though. LOL He did talk to his pastor about it. He knows that I am not religious really. I always tell him are you sure you want to marry a heathen. *lol* My fiance was a pastor for 11 years before quitting the ministry because he realized it was not for him. He is not a regular church goer but goes occasionally. Last night we talked about what to do for vows. He has a book of traditional vows that he used when he preformed weddings but after flipping through it he put it down and said you know what. I said what he said you and I are not traditional people. I laughed and said you got that right. He said well how about we write our own vows. I said yes I like that idea. That is about the only aspect of the wedding we have nailed down. LOL
