I'm sorry. If it's worth anything she scared me with that story too. My fiance and I will only have been together a year when interview comes around and even though I have a good amount of evidence I'm still anxious. But it all depends on the consulate and the person reviewing your case. I read another Cuba beneficiary story that was similar to mine; been together 6 months, only 2 visits before putting in K1 and they got approved. So it's really like the luck of the draw with this even though it's our lives and futures at stake.

I don't know how much more stress I can put myself under 😞

The questions asked are normal questions any of your friends would ask you. We are from Kenya, a tough embassy (with good reason) to interview with. He was asked about 30 questions in all.

-When,where did you last see each other

- When did you two meet?

-What is his-USC full name? Where was the USC born?

-How many times have you two seen each other?

-What does he (USC) do for a living? Name of Company he (USC) works for?

-What kinds of foods does he (USC) like? Not like?

-Did he (USC) like cooking?

-Any plans for the marriage? (gay marriage is authorised in the USA).

-What State? He had difficulty with this one but they let it go.

-How many brothers and sisters do he have?

-Has he met your parents?

I would practice nearer the time of the interview with any of your friends. Ask them to ask you these and other questions. It helps. Basically, IF you know the person and its not a sham engagement, then you will breeze through.

Good luck

So I just realized I forgot to write our names on the back of our passport photos   Should I just expect a RFE?

No you will not get a RFE bc the names are not on the pictures. When I first sent my application in it was rejected bc i filed on a expired I129F form..so the send back teh entire package and i notice someone wrote our names on the back of out photos which I had forgot to do. Hope this helps

Well, it's not depressing, it's just bureaucracy:) At the moment the average time between NOA1 and NOA2 is 90-120 days, sometimes even more.

I know it's easier said than done, but try to be patient.

I'm really frustrated to see that they are only halfway through January which means they are falling even further behind.   I had genuinely hoped they'd get their butts in gear after the swarm of December files

They haven't even finished Nov or Dec yet. I think there's a few Oct filers waiting too. We just have to be patient because I doubt they'll start speeding up their process anytime soon and then we have Memorial day in May, and then July 4th. That'll put them at least a couple days behind because people want off around those days.

Patience is a virtue.

One I have never possessed   I'm just really pissed because I told him we needed to file sooner now it's slowing down, proving I was right and I'm starting to wish i'd never filed in the first place

Hang in there. I understand the regret of not filing sooner (I have the same regret), but I hope you are just saying that you wish you never filed because you are frustrated. The fact that you have already filed is bringing you and your fiance one step closer together. It may take time, but you will get there. Years from now you will be able to look back and see that the wait is worth it I hope.

Honestly right now I wish we hadn't wasted the time and money because he isn't going to be back when he promised and we are just wasting our lives waiting on the govt

We are hoping for sooner too, but I feel that it wouldn't be much sooner the way things are looking... and the price.. and I just looked for Oct 11th... and its only $196!!! That is even more insane! He had just randomly picked the 19th and we thought $280 was cray... $196 seems unheard of! Even if he got approved end of Aug or even Sept, that would give him time to tie up last min things, packing and spend time with his friends and family before leaving.

If you're "ok" with losing out on that money in worst case scenario where he doesn't get approved in time then you should definitely book it! Does the ticket allow for changes? I know some airlines don't allow refunds but will at least apply the funds to another ticket or something. Maybe book direct with the airline and call them to ask what would be the fees or what would happen if he couldn't make that flight. $196 is such an insane deal that I almost think it's worth taking a chance, but if you are really tight on money and that would put major financial stress to lose out on that money then I would proceed with caution. One way tickets for my fiance are going to be around $800 so if one came up that was $200 I would take it in a heartbeat and just pray that we got approved in time.

I'm going to try to go there for the interview though so we're waiting on booking any tickets until he has his interview. That will still be taking a risk as there's always a chance he could be denied at the interview or put into AP. And if they deny him I'll just stay there with him and not come back. ;)

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered "Man.... Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

Well, it's not as if the processing time depends on your fiance. How can one promise anything when it comes to the government?

Noone enjoys the waiting game, I'm sure. Long distance is tough, and long watching the USCIS pot that has a random pattern for boiling is no fun either.

If your relationship is worth all the pain, you'll find strength and patience needed for the process.

Hahahaaa.... I couldn't resist looking myself.

Holy donkeycrap!!!

One way from Frankfurt/Germany to Norfolk, VA on September 30th = 1400€ the cheapest. From Munich 1900 €!!!

I'll consider driving to RO and fly out from there lol

this is the website  lol  https://www.vola.ro/flight_search/from/Bucuresti/to/Los Angeles/from_code/BUH/to_code/LAX/dd/2017-10-18/rd/2017-11-23/ad/1/ow/1
But, so you know, it is in Romanian and I don't think it has a translator... I just used a google translator for stuff I was unsure of and the rest seems pretty easy to figure out what its talking about =)
