I am thinking 2%. So we are pretty close

At 2 % it is possible that Trump might split the electoral and popular. I doubt it though. At 3 % it become near impossible for Trump to overcome.

Who knows though is is the most unpredictable election cycle ever. Lets recap: Who predicted one of these things at the onset?

A Socialist came within throwing range of becoming president

John McCain would be labeled "not a war hero"

A Pumpkin colored billionaire would descend an escalator proceed to label a nationality rapists and drug dealers and oh yeah

“Today I officially declare my candidacy for President of the United States.”

The term "grab them by the p****y" would become part of the election dialog

Men with the names of Billy Bush and Anthony Weiner would become sex tinged factors in the election

Voters would rather a large meteor hit the planet over voting for one of the two major party candidates

I think the best prediction I can make here is what's not going to happen. There is not going to be a landslide victory, at least not with the popular vote. I think it will be either a very narrow margin for Trump or a very narrow margin for Clinton, however when it comes to the electoral vote we might end up with another Gore/Bush situation, as it is definitely not impossible that while Trump gets the majority of the popular vote, Clinton will still win. I do think Clinton will probably get more than 300 electoral votes, and Trump probably around 200.

I've been saying 8% for the past six months, and I'm sticking to it too. But since there can only be one Highlander winner, I will put it at 7.99% to hedge my bets.

Stick with your 8% and we could be basking on the beautiful sandy beaches of Ankara together.

Wait...is this about who wins by the popular vote or the electoral vote? I feel like the electoral difference is going to be huge, whereas the popular vote not so much.

I was originally going to throw in the electoral count as part of the equation but figured most of us were on election overload and wanted to keep it simple.

Throw in all the votes from the illegals and dead folks, it will probably be closer to 70%.

I feel really uncertain about the whole thing since I'm not currently in the US, I can't get an insider view of the popularity (or lack there of) of either candidate. I do feel confident that Hillary is going to take Florida. We've had more old New York retirees moving in over the years, so they'll help prop up Hillary, not to mention the women and the Hispanic vote.

This is by far the strangest presidential election I've ever seen, I can't really think of one that comes close, perhaps Bush/Gore, but that was more of a vote counting thing than it was the crazy candidates themselves. If you go by whose supporters are making the most noise, you'd think it would be Trump in a landslide. There is a saying that an empty barrel makes the most noise and I think that's what is taking place with Trump supporters. The majority of voters on both sides seem to be keeping their intentions very low key. There are very few bumper stickers or yard signs for either candidate in my area. I'm fairly confident that Hillary will win big, by a minimum of 5% of the popular vote and possibly close to 10%.

Yes, I remember the Bush/Gore thing in Florida at the time. You know, despite being a large Dem/Repub gap back then, people still more or less respected Gore? I mean, they made fun of his ideologies, not the man himself. W was just an easy target with his Texan drawl and grammatically incorrect dialect, but again...people usually bashed his policies, not the man. Feels odd to be hearkening back to those days with nostalgia now, but...yeah, this election has managed to do that for me.

It does seem like people are being low key about who they support...which is really odd for me because I remember during the primaries how popular Bernie was. I think everyone is honestly just sick of the whole thing at this point...peak fatigue is setting in.

i think the majority of bernie supporters are repulsed by the dnc and are going to be gritting their teeth while voting for hillary. they're not with her, so much as at this point stuck with her. trump is a disaster.

Yes, I believe that most people had at least minimal respect for the candidates as people in 2000 Bush vs. Gore. Although a lot of people really got on Gore about his protesting the Florida vote, most of the personal nastiness towards the candidates really didn't exist before the election, imo.

The first presidential election I was eligible to vote in was Reagan/Mondale in 1984. I missed the 1980 election (Reagan/Carter) by one year, I was 17 at that time. This will be the 9th presidential election that I will be voting in and by far the craziest. Yes, I am a bit fatigued with the whole thing too. It's bad enough that we have the presidential race and our own local elections here in Mass, but we also get swamped with New Hampshire elections as well. There is a Senate race in New Hampshire between Kelly Ayotte® and Maggie Hassan(D), we get barraged by commercials for this race because most of the Mass tv stations also broadcast in NH.
