Insurance for the gap between arrival and wedding

Dear all,

I am 3 weeks away from my departure to the US with a K1 visa and wanted to book health insurance because there will be almost 2 months between arrival and wedding date.

Thanks to the forum I have learned that the travel insurance is not valid for my case, I am already grateful for that because I was going to book that...

I know that there are a lot of topics in this forum about this, but I realized that almost none of them talk about concrete products, can someone recommend an insurance company or an specific plan to be covered for 90 days until my fiancée can include me in her plan after the wedding?

I found this plan called Inbound Guest from a company called Seven Corners:

https://www.sevencorners.com/inbound-guest#/

It charges $76.86 for two months of coverage ($45,000 Maximum). But as a european I've NO IDEA about what that means of if it is a good deal....

If someone used this plan before and can share their experience or if you can recommend me something else or give me any tips, I will be very grateful :)

Best,

K1

Unfortunately we can not do that as the parents of my fiancée will be on a trip and we have to wait for them to come back so they can attend to the wedding :)

Obviously the cover is very limited, may be better than nothing.

There is nothing wrong with using this sort of insurance temporarily, as long as you are confident your fiancé will be adding you to their plan after marriage or you intend to purchase a plan of your own that is not temporary. Keep in mind that temporary insurances marketed toward visitors and new immigrants are not federally compliant, and this means if you have pre-existing conditions they will not be covered.. results for the rest of the coverage offered, may vary. Long term use of such a plan means that the tax penalty will still apply.

Medicaid is a means tested benefit, it is not an option

I don't know what that means but my cousin recently came to the US with visa, I helped him apply for insurance and he was approved for NY state health insurance (he pays nothing for it due to low income.) It is income based and I don't see why it would not be an option.

NY and a few other places are odd.
