I filed priority date May 18, 2016. Got approved this past Wednesday the 18th on Jan. I put a service request in on Dec 29 when I realized the Nebraska Service Center was processing cases after mine on their website. I also have my senator, congressman, and a lawyer in on it. Although it's unclear if their involvement helped...still waiting on instructions if what to do next.

It definetly helped you.

I was unsure about whether our contacting my wifes senator would help or if it had been any help after we were approved, but seeing as how cases waayyyyy older than ours are still waiting for approval, I can say for sure that it definetly helped!

Our priority date is May 2nd. Our case was sent to the Nebraska Service Center.  On the USCIS website they were taking 5 months to process.  We received the NOA2 on 9-22-16. I checked the USCIS website with my login, prior to getting the notification.

Hello, guys!  I just found this thread.  My husband (UK citizen) and I filed our I-130 in May.  NOA-1 date is May 23.  Nebraska Service Center.  Obviously i expected it to get approved in October, so I've been super impatient since then.  When the service center processing time dates for the I-130 started showing that they were processing applications from june/july, I finally called to check on our application.  I called last Friday, and today I received our acceptance letter!  Such a relief - very sorry for those of you who are still waiting. Now I'm all ready to hurry up and wait for our file to be transferred to the NVC...

Greetings May filers, have any of you had your ds-260 / aos paperwork (as in, the packet you mailed to them) approved yet? How long did it take from when you sent in the packet to when they told you it had been approved?

you have to call NVC to confirm

the website said it takes 6 weeks for review, but base on recently what people reported, is up to 10 weeks now

you can wait for NVC to inform you by mail, but it may take some time, so the best way is to call them for the case status update!

my case is at week 7, no update yet.....

The NVC is exhibiting a strong difference based on mail or electronic processing.  Mail is taking 8-12 weeks right now from scan date.  EP is taking 1 day to 1 week in most cases.  You can call the NVC to check on your scan date, but you should budget at least 2 months before approval if you submitted normal processing.  Best to follow this in the NVC thread.

Thanks. Maybe I should just go ahead and submit my file electronically anyway.

An interesting note, the consulates/embassies that accept e-filing seem to be predominately countries with heavy US military or financial interests. Things that make you go "hummmm"

We submitted our docs through EP to the NVC, we are on our fourth week of waiting now. We call quite often and each time during the call I ask what the representative has seen processing times for EP lately, each time they say for EP it's getting right up against that 6 weeks mark, often a little over that.

It may be that it's country-specific.  I've had a few direct message exchanges with other people from Canada, and it's been quite fast for all of them.  We also all got a phone call from NVC after the case was complete to discuss what was required for the next step.  Seems they're processing at least one country efficiently.  My sympathies definitely go out to anyone that's stuck waiting longer!
